Hare Scrambles schedule!?!?
I raced in the Sand Flea this past weekend, and have been bitten by the racing bug. I'm on the nmaoffroad website, but there isn't a race for another few weeks. Does anyone know of any hare scrambles going on this weekend? Or, possibly have a schedule of all the different race series this season?

I put this in the regional forum for geographic reasons, sorry if it needs to be in a different section.

Welcome to the sickness. The NMA website has the majority of the local events.

A couple of other sites to check out are:
http://www.omraoffroad.com/ for Oregon events.
http://www.overthebarsgang.com/ for events at Eddieville and Starvation Ridge.

The next event I'm aware of is the Gallardo GP at Stradeline on March 3rd. http://www.promotopromotions.com/

I rode Open C. I was on a yz400f with orange bark busters, and was the only guy in a bright yellow jersey. haha. I found out about the Gallardo on Thumper Talk. I'm there, and the Teamtortoiseracing event the weekend of March 11. It is truly a sickness, haha.

Thanks for the links! Maybe I'll see you guys out at the Gallardo.

Murdered, what race were you in?

I plan to do the Gellardo as long as the weather isn't super craptacular. Otherwise I'll be at all the NMA enduros and the really good hare scrambles. If you see a Husky 125 with 33 on the plates stop by and say hi.

I am racing open C as well, KTM 300 #455. Are you going to do the Enduro and Off Road series?

I'm going to try doing all the off road series. Not familiar with the enduro series. I don't have the necessarily knowledge or tools.

How do the enduros work?

I am not sure as I am new as well, but when I got my competition license, they sent me a listing of all of the off road and enduro events. Looks like I will try to do those too if I can, some I won't be able to compete as you need a dual sport I beleive (plated). I can scan the schedule and email it to you later if you would like.

If it needs to be plated I am out. The hare scramble was more fun than a barrel full of monkeys, though. Not sure if I can handle more fun.

Do the OTBG endurance series- hours more racing for the same price. The first round is March 4 and is a six hour day light race. They have one of the only tracks where you can go WFO on a bike.

I don't know of any NMA events you need a plated bike for.

The NMA runs timekeeper enduros and you don't "need" anything special. If you want to time keep, you'll need a watch, an adjustable odometer, and a roll chart holder. You can also just try to stick with someone on your minute who has timekeeping equipment. The Shelton Valley Beginners Enduro on 5/5 is a good lesson on how the game is played. And the fact that Shelton has some amazing single track doesn't hurt either.

I did this one last year. It was a hoot. Class before explaining everything. The pace was a little slow for me. I ended up burning out of the event but I knew that going in with no time keeping equipment. The area has some great trails thats for sure.

Let me know, LSeca.

Did you do the enduro on Sunday or just the Saturday practice? The usually keep the pace pretty reasonable for the first 40-50 miles for short course. After the long course split they often like to kick it up to 20-30mph averages.
