| Licensed Joined: Feb 2011 From: tacoma I Ride: kx450f | i use to think so, but when i had my ktm450sxf and i was 3/4 of the way through a moto and stalled it was nice to just push a button insted of kick a hot bike for 3 minutes. another time i was glad i had it was stalling on a hill. i wont hate on anyone for trying to make riding easier. If your bike was tuned, it would start hot or cold on the first or second kick. My last Yamaha had dumped all of it's water out the pump shaft seal, making it really hot. It still started after falling down on hill climbs and such. Lean out the pilot, install a larger leak jet, time the accelerator pump correctly, have a working hot start, just do something to make it run right. A rich bike off idle is hard to start and soft on acceleration, off the bottom. If you're too lean, it will be abrupt, so there is some tuning to do. |
