If I get to ride, that will be my destination. Not much fun, but better than driving. I would probably have my wife on back. I might take some of the backroads if I can figure them out to get there. I know backroads from Astoria to Clatskanie, but from there, I only know Hwy 30. If you have a suggestion and know the roads, let me know. My number is in my profile too. |

Next time we meet in Clatskanie, we'll have to take the backroads to Astoria or Seaside. I'll talk to you again soon. |

In fact I'm thinking of going west to your area next Sunday, riding two up, along with a few other riders. Maybe catch a lunch on the coast, all weather dependant of course. I would love to have both you and your wife join us. Maybe even show us that lewis and clark route. |

| Pilot in Command | love this area you guys are in. LOL yea I'd like to believe you best have good gear on when tackling those back roads, as great as they are there is a lot of hazards out there. |

Also, there's a back way over by lewis and clark that crosses the mainline a couple times (my ex used to live out there) and it ties in to seaside by the theaters. Well, it used to tie in there, it's been years since i was on it. But was a great rode at the time. |

It's the closest twisty road to where I live and I try to use it at least weekly when I'm riding. Hwy 53 is awesome as is the road that cuts from the south end of 53 at Mohler to Garibaldi. That is one of my favorite sections of road that I can reach from home. http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Mohl...en_US:M:/bl:/e |

If i remember right, we didnt swing south at mohler, rather straight on to 101. I can see some problems during the summer concerning log trucks but the weekends should be nice on that one. Gonna be heading down that way a few more times this summer for sure. |

![]() If I were going from Portland to Newport, this is what I would do starting at Scappoose; http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Mist...en_US:M:/bl:/e I've been on all of these roads in the last 3-4 months, and they are all amazing on a motorcycle. There are several more options from Tillamook down depending on how much time you have available. If you're interested, I'll send you a link for more ideas. If I was available, I would come ride them with you. That looks like a lot of fun. | |
