Thanks! She didn't want me to post up the pics of her, but I think she's the best looking mod on the bike.

I'll have my younger two boys on Saturday, so I'm not sure what I'll be doing. They can be on their own, but if they want me to do something with them, I will. If they are playing video games or going to friend's houses, I'll be available. If the weather is nice, my 14 year old might want me to take him somewhere to ride his dirtbike. Let me know what your plans are as it gets closer. If I'm able, I'll show you some fun roads around here and we can go make fun of the class at the airport.

I wish one of you guys were taking the class with me....At least then I would have someone to B.S.My luck I will get stuck with a bunch of wierdos haha I'm not taking it on my bike I'm going to ride whatever they give me

I think the weather is going to suck....I better go find me some ugly cheap yellow tarp rain gear.A109driver,Take your kid to barlow point in Longview if he's into MX,I love riding that place.You have the big track,little track,sand track,and miles of trails.I havent been there for a long time but I always had fun riding there.It's like 20 bucks all day.This sucks I wish we still had that nice weather.If I get my endorsement I dont want to ride in the rain!But I dont want to wait for the sun....:( Screw Oregon I'm moving to Cali or Florida haha

I might come drop by your place....If I knew where that was

Hell I guess I could just ride all 3 directions a couple of times I bet I would find it lol I kinda wanna ride by myself a bit so that I dont completly embarrass myself by sucking and being slow and making a bunch of old folks wait up for me!HAHA

I bought my R1 from a guy in Vancouver, WA. By the time we finished the paperwork, it was 4:30pm and started raining. I got to Longview as it was dark (Nov). I had raingear over my riding jacket and jeans, but I was still getting soaked. I rode from Longview to Astoria in the cold, wet and dark in pouring rain with my wife following in the minivan. I couldn't see anything through the scratched up visor and it was completely fogged up.

Because of all this, I was riding about 30-40 mph and had cars backed up for a mile behind me. They must have thought I was nuts riding that slow on a sportbike. I couldn't tell the puddles or potholes from the road and couldn't even see the painted lines. It sucked and I was totally scared I was going to crash my R1 on the trip home.

Don't worry about riding too slow. We've all been there at one time or another. Just stay safe and take it easy. None of the guys you ride with will want you to push it, and we wont mind you going slow. It beats having to stop to pick you and your bike up, or worse, calling an ambulance for you. Anyone else will never be able to tell who you are with the helmet on. I wave to friends sometimes who don't realize it's me, so you don't have to worry about being embarassed. Good luck in the class. You'll probably meet some pretty cool people there I would guess.

So day one was all classroom pretty much for people who dont know anything about bikes....Like what all the parts are/do.What kind of gear is good to have,Etc.Loonking forward to tomorrow and seeing what thats like.Just not looking forward to waking up at 5am!I have to try to go to bed but I dont think that will happen anytime soon...

TEAM OREGON doesn't do a U-Turn. The skills testing is more focused on demonstrating skills and confidence to make a bike do what you need it to do and go where you need it to go.

Be careful about that- the range is out on the closed runway, and the Coasties get cranky when people sneak in past their perimeter, especially if they're engaged in flight ops. You would probably not like getting caught trespassing. Just sayin'.

Haha,Yes I just got back from day 2 and it is pretty damn basic....I can see it being geared more towards total beginners that have never ever been on a bike.It's kinda fun getting to ride the sweet yamaha dualsport!

Also Al seems to be pretty cool.The only thing I am kinda stressed about is the 50 question written part.....I'm horrible on written tests :( And all those MoM/one-c/slrp/etc. things are going to be hard for me to remember.I think I will read the whole book tonight just to be safe.

The thread is too big to read through the whole thing right now. I am curious if i happen to know ya, we are about the same age (just turned 21 in december) -

dude try and get some info on the advanced course, Id like to try to take that class!! I took a safety course like this back in NC. It was kind of slow but I still had fun with it... I think the advanced class with some friends would be pretty fun....

I'm actually in wesport...It's just before clatskanie if you were on your way to Longview.
