His spirits seem better and he's more talkative. He was getting a nice sponge bath by a cute nurse on Wed. His wife was there keeping an eye on things. ![]() Some of his friends picked up his R1 at the wreckers and took it to his house to stop the storage charges. Apparently the engine is cracked. |

He's got one of those grabber tools you use to pick stuff up from the ground without bending over. He told her he's going to use it to catch her. I went to visit him today. He seems like he's recovering well. |

That corner always freaks me out there strictly for those bolders. Prayers for a fast recovery and hopefully the wife will let him keep riding. (won't push it right now though...lol) Ron |

I've done several more since then, but I've been taking it a little easier lately. Today was 167 miles with my wife on back from 1400 to 1800. It was beautiful and she loved the hot weather. |

| Newbie Joined: Jun 2010 From: Warrenton, OR I Ride: 2000 Yamaha YZF R1 | Hello everyone. I am very happy to still be here sending this note. I was the rider that wrecked on Lewis and Clark Rd. I ended up breaking my collar bone, 10 ribs, fracturing 6 vertebrae, and collapsing a lung. They took me by ambulance to Columbia Memorial Hospital where they assessed my injuries and inserted a chest tube to drain fluid out of the collapsed lung. They decided to life flight me to Legacy Emanual Hospital a Level 1 Trauma center in Portland. I spent 16 days in the hospital. 3 of those in ICU. July 8th they released me to come home and start my recovery process. I am actually doing quite well. The ribs and vertebrae are very sore and will take a long time to heal, but I am up and mobile. I can't thank you guys enough for all the words of encouragement. A special thank you to John, who came to visit me in the hospital several times and then again at home once I got back to Warrenton. Lum's Auto Center is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday August 28th, 2010 at their showroom to help with the cost of my medical expenses. They are having a dinner, silent auction, raffle, music, and drinks. It starts at 5 pm. I would love to see anyone there that can make it. If anyone has any auction items or ideas for auction items they would like to donate, please contact George or Christina at Lum's Auto Center (503) 861-1144. That's all for now, just wanted to let everyone know I am still alive and well on the road to recovery. It would be great to see some biker presence at the fundraiser as well. My wife has not completely ruled out me ever riding again, so keep your fingers crossed for me...lol. |
