I tightened up the squish on my bike (which belongs to Sicc now) by removing 2 layers of the base gasket and 2 layers of the cylinder head gasket. You need to be careful when doing this and take measurements of the piston to valve clearance and piston to cyl head clearance. I probably wouldn't do this with stock cams, either. The compression ratio might be a little too high for pump gas. The more aggressive camshafts have more valve overlap and lower the compression ratio a little bit.

Yes its wavy, I've been waiting to see someone post again in the Astoria area! I know its tough this time of year to ride, but its been clear & cold until last week, & I've been riding most of those days to work, shootin & such on weekends! I know its no fun in the cold dang it but. Bundle & ride with me dang it!! Signed your adventure rider extrordinaire Capt. Wavy! I'm 54 still doing it!!

dude thats awsome i love the white. i was thinking about doing the mrd but if the fmf seems to be a good pleaser maybe ill go that way cause its a little better price! where did you get the front blinkers? i bought the taillight and mounted my blinkers to the sub frame and made my own bracket. we should ride sometime!

Ive had a yosh, MRD and now akrapovic exhaust on a DRZ. I wouldnt buy the MRD again, its a race pipe and will blow your ear drums without ear plugs

I really like the akrapovic just because its not obnoxious like the MRD

damn akrapovic is expensive lol. did you have the insert in the mrd? i was thinking the procomp one not the ssw. so many choicess!

I didnt have a insert and it was the ssw. The quality of the MRD was nice just to loud for me.

Was that directed to me? Sorry if it was and I missed it.

But I bought the front turn signals from cycle gear in portland, and they were like, 12 bucks or something, the big front ones were killing me. They arent too visible during the day, but at night they are very bright. They were supposed to be temporary, but I ran with them, haha.

And FMF is a lot cheaper, but overall I wish I got the MRD, it works a lot better with other upgrades, but the FMF sounds real rowdy, haha.

I bought mine with the insert.
434, cams and a 41 worked nicely. Not obnoxious.
470 Stroker...
That fucker was LOUD.
Even WITH the insert.

hmm i guess mrd seems the best way to go. i'd love to get the big bore kit and all but just cant see spending the money. just looking for a little more power, plus the faster it is the more trouble i'll get myself into. i've been there its not fun!!

For the DRZ hands down the MRD/SSW is the way to go and you can get the quiet insert for it

Is that what you have on your bike? dave said the "Procomp is probably the way you want to go" does it sound good?
