And my new ride

2006 KTM 560 SMR....holy crap are braking marker's different??? enter same corner, same speed and hit the brakes at the same time....new result is your WAY TOO SLOW at turn in, change of direction is SOOO much faster.....this will take a little getting used to. totally different ridng skill set compared to sportbikes. Fun stuff but takes a little getting used to. took a little 30 mile ride today and it's funny how much different the corners are compered to each other; in a 30 mile ride MAX speed was maybe 85....# of accidental wheelies ...4+ front-end just jumps up on it's on.
You going to race that thing next weekend or atleast go for a practice day at the tradex?

Was just checking that out Sat online. Found a nice warehouse park near Custer Sunday. Totally empty everything shut down so I had my own private trackday for about 20min.

BUTTTTTTT SO Frigging piss right now. Finished flogging and was starting to really get used to the bike. Had to get gas so took off back to Custer gas station, downshifted and felt it get loose which felt strange cause I wasn't pushing it hard then 50 feet later I turned in and knew why it felt loose.

I hit the ground sooo frigging fast, backend just shot out, had my leathers on so no problems. Went scooting across the road about 45-50mph, jumped up to check the bike and all the oil was draining out Back tire took a oil bath hense the lowside on turn in.

Frigging crap was going to rebuild it this winter but guess i'll start early, gotta pull the skid plate tomorrow....kinda expecting to see a hole in the bottem, not sure what lety go but it's down right now.

Plus on top of hitting the ground at 50mph and blowing the motor...wife was working so I had to push it 6miles home. 2 hrs later found out that SIDI boots offer great protection but SUCK for walking...got a few blisters

But good side wife REALLY wants me to do trackdays only so she's got NO problems hitting the track... her commet was "as many trackdays as it takes to keep you happy and off the road" ...that might be a lot

Could have been ugly cause I slid all the way through the curve, across the center line and stopped in the middle of the other lane. Kinda would have ruined my day to get run over!!

Well finally got to the shop today and picked up some oil and the right torx bit for the skid plate. Pulled the skid plate NO HOLE in the case; poured some oil in and it's leaking out of the clutch cover gasket, looks like I only blew a gasket I was REALLY expecting a rod out the bottom. So I'll have to order a new gasket and kickstarter seal and be back in business in a week or so.

After two months of work & lots of time waiting for parts and weather I finally got all the projects done on my baby. Took care of all the maintenance & tuning; added quite a few new bits and got rid of some of the old.

Oh, and I can no longer say I've never dropped a bike. It took a nap for a little bit and added a small dent and a scratch to the tank.

VERY sharp looking sv Josh. I have always loved the bold look of red and black since I was a little kid, and your bike wears it well. Can't wait to see it in person at a bike night

Freshie here, but riding the same bike since '96. Bought in '93 for $400. Bent crank, crashed on both sides, etc.

Really nice pics. I just joined today because my neighbor said there was a monkey butt run this year. Wanted to know if there was one, and where to direct people to/find info on it.

Recently got my bike back together after some bodywork. Took me forever. Don't hate on spraypaint! (If the date tags show, pay no mind, they are incorrect)

Ha! Ha! Between your input & Alexander's "Why Two Bikes" vid I was
inspired to do something. Initially I was in the market for a weeStrom when I
ran into this deal that I just couldn't pass up.

Tony,
Great minds think alike! I also just picked up a BMW R1100GS for a screamin deal last week. Gonna be a more versatile ride than the CBR, but now I can choose depending on what mood I'm in
