How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Company of Other Motorcyclists

This year's dates are 24-26 August!

Location: Lake Billy Chinook, Cove Palisades State Park (<-click to make a reservation)

This will be the official thread for the Southern Oregon Annual Motorcycle Campout (anyone is welcome to come despite the name

). The location this year is Central Oregon. The original plan was to camp at the Prineville Reservoir campgrounds but they're already booked up so we relocated to Cove Palisades State Park on Lake Billy Chinook. Typically we use a block of 4-5 camp sites with 2-3 people per site. We're going to group around sites B01-04 & B90-94.

Let's do this!

They currently have an entire inner loop available for the last weekend in Aug/first weekend in Sep.

I already have other plans that weekend as I'm sure others do seeing as that's Labor Day weekend. I'm sure we'll be able find something else nearby.

I used to spend my summers at the Cove, we would jump off the bridge towers, crazy stupid thing to do Smith Rock is close... Only problem would be finding roads that are not straight...

EDIT: After looking at it on the map there looks like a fun loop just north of the Cove, Jackson Trail Road and come back around on Pelton Dam Road... there is also Lake Simtustus and Pelton reservoir and two dams on the way for photo ops...

I'm going to go ahead and change the date in the first post. The Cove looks good to me. I'm not opposed to traveling a little further for better roads.

If you guys stay at the cove you could do a Fossil loop. Cove is going to be a state park so being loud might be a problem. It's also stupid busy there!
