Death and Catastrophes Come in Threes
Life likes to come at us when we least expect it and it also likes to test us. Stay strong and keep your head up. You have a community of people to vent too and help you along your way.
Try to find any good out of any of the situations that happened. My grandma just passed away, she was sick just like my mom and has been fighting with Dr.s for a long time trying to figure out what it is. I think of it as she is no longer suffering. She can finally relax.
Just an idea, i know how hard it is. Thats one way i coped.

I got a new riding friend
We went for a short ride Sunday morning and stopped at the PNWR coffee gathering at Starbucks. He ran into some old friends he hadn't seen in years who also ride and we ended up chatting for awhile. Maybe next weekend we can ride a little further than Starbucks

My new toy
The parts finally came in.. It only took 2 months!
Mostly my fault because I ordered a tip that is built to order so they held the whole shipment until it was ready.. They might have mentioned that on the part description.
This is the best soldering iron I've ever used.. It holds temp to within 1deg, heats by induction and it's ready to use 30 seconds after you turn it on.

MOre work done on the car today
I got the replacement headliner in.. Getting the old one out was a dirty job!
all that foam and jute padding turned to dust.
The new headliner really looks good in there.. I think the interior will looks nice with a mix of black and tan.
I finally dug in and got the speedo hooked up.. my hands are shredded but it's done.
HVAC controls all done and bolted down.
Buttoned up the dash and put on all the trim I had parts for..
I need to buy some of those big push in button retainers for the kick panels. Ace might have em.
need a new drivers side sill plate.. the one I have is broken in half.
I vacuumed the car out, put all the spare parts in the trunk and took it for a spin..
Sounds like I have an exhaust leak to deal with.
It's starting to look like a car again

Damn you USPS!!
UPS sucks, I usually don't have problems with USPS, have never had a problem with Fed Ex, but UPS always screws me, and I send and receive a lot of packages for my company.Quote:I can share your pain on this one. I have ordered work shoes online twice from the same company. Both times the shoes are shipped UPS to the Redmond facility then they give it to USPS. I though "ok thats fine its only right down the street, and it should be here tomorrow." I could not be more wrong. USPS takes an extra 3 days to process and ship it while I watch countless UPS trucks drive through the neighborhood. On top of that they don't deliver to my door! WTF! Why is it a good option to transfer packages to USPS?Posted 01-03-2012 at 12:02 PM by RideMotto

Damn you USPS!!
I ordered a Kindle Fire through Amazon early last week and they shipped it through some shipping company I've never heard of. The tracking said it was in Kent. It kept going out for delivery then saying it failed to deliver. After THREE DAYS it said "Incorrect processing center" and they then shipped it to Kennewick. It arrived today, four days after it was suppose to be here. Some dude in a regular car delivered it. I asked if I should sign something, he said "nah I got it man."
Same day, I ordered a TV through Newegg. Different shipping company than the Amazon one, but they keep calling me daily to notify me of where they are with "my TV". Yes, they refer to it as a TV and not package and keep me in contact whenever the TV moves from location to location. Very odd.
While I was writing this the TV showed up!Posted 12-21-2011 at 09:59 AM by lagwagonlead

Turn signals fixed!! I traced the wire from the fuse, to the flasher, hazard light switch and finally to the turn signal switch.. 12v all the way.. Then I noticed that the retaining tab in the plug block for the 12v feed to the turn signal switch was broken.. When you plugged the block into the switch the wire would push out and not make contact..
Still lots of stuff to do inside but it's drivable now.Posted 11-27-2011 at 06:13 PM by sschering

The stupid alternator has been driving me nuts..
I got the modded headlight harness back in.. mounted the 3G alternator and fired it up.. Still only seeing 11.4 volts.. crap.. Yank the alt and haul it down to the parts store for testing.. FAIL. only puts out 11.4 volts.. I picked up a new voltage regulator, swapped it onto the alt and put it back in the car.. WOW 14.3 volts! Cool.. one less thing to fix..
Now I can tackle the turn signals..
I dug around under the dash with a flashlight and finally found the plug for the flasher.. It didn't have a flasher can so I was thinking easy fix.. pop a new one in and still no turn signals. I finally found a schematic so I can chase this thing down..Posted 11-27-2011 at 12:38 AM by sschering
