So coincidence abounds

So the last two times that I have had to go up and over the passes in the last week have been interesting. Last Friday we were heading over I-90 to Ellensburg. We stop at the top of the pass so everyone can take a potty break. We take way too much time looking at things and playing in the snow with our puppy. We are loading up to head out when right in front of us there is a woman in a minivan that is stuck in the parking spot. I ask her if she needs me to give her a push. She said yes so I gave her a good hard push and she got right out of the spot. On the way back home we decided we were gonna go across US 2. We are driving along. Suddenly I decide to turn off the road onto a little off shoot that people use to unload their snowmobiles to play with. Pull in there and see a few snow shoers. They have a dog with them and the dog had lost one of its booties. Swung up to were they were at let them know and just turned around and left. I had no need or real reason to be up that road when I was.
So we were heading over the passes again yesterday. This time we went over US 12. Ended up leaving a little later than what we had intended. Get up and over the top of White Pass and look to my left. I see that there is a minivan parked were it shouldn't be. I pull to the side and flip a quick u-turn. Laura asks what I am doing. I say I think there is someone stuck in the snow. Get over and sure enough there is someone stuck. We roll out the winch line and wrap it around his rear axle. On a side note. When did car makers quit putting snatch points on cars? Anyway hook up and put the Jeep in 4 low. Back up up a slight hill on wet slick snow. But my new tires did not even try to spin in the slightest. Pulled him to a flat compact area. We talked to them a little bit. We said that we were from Centralia and that we had been flooded. But we had received help from almost complete strangers. So what we were doing up there was paying it forward.
Well that is it for my little tirade.

its amazing what you can find when your eyes are open, my wife always asks "how do you see everything" well as you know people are always in need of a hand you just have to know what to look for. and be willing to give said hand. im good for that. but also sometimes there are those people who are always in need of something, they can be very annoying if they know you do not know how to say NO, i have family like that.
but no is one of the first words in my vocabularyPosted 01-03-2008 at 12:54 PM by RedBullRider
