Well we finally got our bill in the mail from using 4 space heaters 24/7. Screw them. We ended up using almost 6600 Kwh. This bill is almost three times as much as we are used to. I don't know how the hell we are gonna pay for this. :banghead: Looking at the usage graph is kinda funny though. All the bars are around 1750 or less then here comes January. It spikes to just under 7000. Well all the people holding us back from our money will get theirs. I have come to find that karma can come back to bite you in the ass. Hopefully this time it is on someone else.

So we have finally got the insurance check from the December flood. And we overnighted it to Houston on Monday. Wait for them to process. Send to first mortgage company. Then we will get a cut of the check. All told it could be almost 3 months before we get any money that wasn't already ours to begin with. I am so pissed at how long this damn process is taking. My wife has had to close out a high yield savings account. I have had to take a loan against my 401k. Dammit it is expensive to...

Send to first mortgage company. Then we will get a cut of the check. All told it could be almost 3 months before we get any money that wasn't already ours to begin with. I am so pissed at how long this damn process is taking. My wife has had to close out a high yield savings account. I have had to take a loan against my 401k. Dammit it is expensive to live when you don't have a stove. Eating out all of the time or if you are lucky it is corn dogs or maybe a burrito in the toaster oven. I can't wait until our house is finished. On the plus side. Now that night temps are finally out of the low teens we can keep the house warm. I am just dreading seeing next months power bill though. Four 1500 watt heaters running 24/7 that doesn't include even having lights on. Oh well. At least we have some place to stay.

So the last two times that I have had to go up and over the passes in the last week have been interesting. Last Friday we were heading over I-90 to Ellensburg. We stop at the top of the pass so everyone can take a potty break. We take way too much time looking at things and playing in the snow with our puppy. We are loading up to head out when right in front of us there is a woman in a minivan that is stuck in the parking spot. I ask her if she needs me to give her a push.

She said yes so I gave her a good hard push and she got right out of the spot. On the way back home we decided we were gonna go across US 2. We are driving along. Suddenly I decide to turn off the road onto a little off shoot that people use to unload their snowmobiles to play with. Pull in there and see a few snow shoers. They have a dog with them and the dog had lost one of its booties. Swung up to were they were at let them know and just turned around and left. I had no need or real reason to be up that road when I was.

So we were heading over the passes again yesterday. This time we went over US 12. Ended up leaving a little later than what we had intended. Get up and over the top of White Pass and look to my left. I see that there is a minivan parked were it shouldn't be. I pull to the side and flip a quick u-turn. Laura asks what I am doing. I say I think there is someone stuck in the snow. Get over and sure enough there is someone stuck. We roll out the winch line and wrap it around his rear axle. On a side note. When did car makers quit putting snatch points on cars? Anyway hook up and put the Jeep in 4 low. Back up up a slight hill on wet slick snow. But my new tires did not even try to spin in the slightest. Pulled him to a flat compact area. We talked to them a little bit. We said that we were from Centralia and that we had been flooded. But we had received help from almost complete strangers. So what we were doing up there was paying it forward.:secret:

Well that is it for my little tirade.
