Will the naked lady come to life?

Posted 12-05-2011 at 07:47 AM by Curley (My Restorations)

As the winter months rolls in and Christmas looming around the corner, the project slowed down a little.

As you can see in the previous update, the lady is pretty much naked only with her heart in place!
We have been trying to get her started without the battery but it looks like the battery is needed. Took me some time to get around to buying the battery as i had to do stuff( some people call it "work"!) to pay bills, feed the family and restore a bike! ...

My First Restoration Project - 1961 BSA C15 250cc

Posted 09-29-2011 at 03:31 AM by Curley (My Restorations)

When i was a kid, my neighbor used to ride around the estate in his Norton. It made some noise but it just looked beautiful! He had a routine for riding the bike on Saturdays at 5pm every week.

I always looked forward to seeing the bike motor along the estate and the sound gave me goose bumps!

That was when i said to myself that someday i want to own something like that! I was 10!

From the dream of owning, it grew to restoring a classic and riding her...

My Seat Recovery Project

Updated 01-04-2010 at 06:53 AM by Gamuru

Let me start by saying, "Hell ya! I'm done!"

This project turned into what can be only described as work. And, as we all know, work isn't fun. It's work. That's why you get paid, cuz you wouldn't do it otherwise.

Enough of that. Let's get to the pictures. For the sake of saving room, I'll post the thumbnail for most of the photos. Click each to embiggen it, 'kay?

And So It Begins...

Posted 12-28-2009 at 09:39 AM by Gamuru (The Path Less Traveled)

The highway back into town is frosted over. I'm done riding until we get a long, warm spell to thaw things out.

I've been threatening to do it for a couple weeks now, and, this morning, I went and did it.

Yep, I stripped my seat down. It's time for a recovery. You see, the seat has been slowly coming apart at the seams all year long, and it desperately...

Stinking Badges

Posted 08-21-2009 at 01:23 PM by Gamuru (The Path Less Traveled)
Updated 08-21-2009 at 01:36 PM by Gamuru

An eternity ago, I sanded down and repainted my wife's gas tank and side covers. Part of the project was to change the stock Yamaha badges from gold to chrome to better match her new paint color. After several attempts, I finally found a chrome sticky-back tape that worked well for adhering to the badges.

Well, today, I finally finished the last badge and get 'em all put back on the bike. I took a step back and admired the new look it gave her bike. The chrome really looks much better...
