Yeah, sometimes just being on the bike can make you feel pretty damn cool...


... like when you're leaving for work and pass the bus stop where the elementary school kids are and you see some of them jumping up and down excited to see a bike.

... or when a few days later you get there just after the bus and one of the parents does the same thing.

Talk about a great way to start your day.

What a up/down year. Great things, and some crap thrown in to boot. Learned a lot, at least.


Picked up my dream bike, then tossed it.

Finished fixing the track bike, then I couldn't ride because I was on crutches.

Got a new job... but a crap new supervisor.

Got to go to Korea, Hawaii, and AZ... but missed out on CO, CA, MotoGP, Caribbean, Korea (second time), VA, and HI (Second time). ...

Dammit. I was looking forward to going to VA instead...

This flight sucks.




Edit: Canceled. The army ran out of money. No, really. Apparently there's not enough funding and they cut the staff down to less than half.

Just found out I might be mobilizing to the DC area. I suppose having 2-3 nice tracks within a few hours won't be a bad thing.

It's a full year deployment, and I have found good and bad in it already... we'll see what pans out.

It's been confirmed: My mission to Kuwait was canceled. I'll be staying home.

Well, if all goes to plan I'll be IA in Korea in about two weeks... then come back for a little bit and then be IA in the desert for a 6 month minimum. Hoping to get extended to longer. If it ALL works out I'll be working with a friend of mine who is graduating from his advanced school soon. Sounds like we're going to the same area. Maybe I'll option to extend as long as he's there. (18 months?)

I guess the next week or two should get pretty crazy.

Edit/Update...

Well I let the other unit know I'm sending them my packet. I guess we'll see what happens next.

Oh, and I'm not crazy. I joined post-9/11 and I knew what was going on. Never really considered ASKING to go but hey, this sounds like a pretty cool mission.

Sometimes life surprises you, eh?

Who else got riding gear or gift cards/cash intended for riding gear?

My parents gave me cash so I can go pick up some nice winter gloves. I'm thinking some like Arcane's. Those babies looked NICE!

Oh, and my niece that's due in a couple weeks kicked me for Christmas... I thought that was fuggin cool. My sister's sick of me following her around with my hand on her tummy though.
