Triumph and the January 2011 Vancouver motorcycle show

Posted 12-13-2010 at 12:11 PM by donbcivil

Sadly, the Eurobike manufacturers I'm most interested in (Triumph, KTM & BMW in that order) were not at the Seattle bike show last weekend.

They WILL be at the Vancouver/Abbotsford, BC show the weekend of Jan 21 which makes me think:

- I need to be in BC that weekend
- Why aren't those manufacturers at the seattle show?

I'm sure the Seattle area's Triumph and BMW dealers will be asking the same thing. "OR should be".

My friend who works for Triumph said the Seattle IMS show costs for a booth were too expensive to justify.

That's an intriguing comment, beans. Is the QWest field venue the problem? Wonder if they'd consider having a show somewhere where the costs aren't stupid?

The vendor space for Triumph to be at the Seattle IMS would have been ~$6000 and as shocking as this may sounds, that was too much for them to spend.

Any surplus in budgets and savings was spent last year when the economy had the downtown, used to offset things. Now that additional savings has dried up, and there is nothing to offset budgets this winter, which means money and budgets are tighter than Fort Knox.

that explains why triumph dealers around here won't budge on their prices, they say they aren't given any wiggle room from triumph on the bikes
