The day after the Lois & Austin event at Adventure Motorsports, I set out on a planned 5 day solo expedition to BC.

The first day and a half went very well and I'll be posting pictures.

On the middle of the second day, falling rocks took us out. I've got sprains + negligible contusions but the Triumph looked very dead when a good samaritan passerby took me into town for help and the RCMP had her towed while they were trying to find me.

Will post more details later - just returned home...

I've been talking with them about maybe doing some maintenance on their web site and the manager is also interested in having more events there. Some ideas I threw out:

- a riding club
- screening shows (e.g., Long Way Round episodes) at their facility, where they have burgers, coffee and such available
- instruction (e.g., trailside repair)

If anyone else has some ideas for events they'd enjoy, I'm going in to talk to the manager today. I was thinking this could be a cool social thing...

Had a discussion recently with a friend where we agreed it would suck to go on reserve in some situations.

Last night, I was heading towards Bothell…near the 522 interchange…just moved from the HOV lane to the fast lane and the DRZ started stalling. Luckily, traffic was light at the time (strange for 6 pm) and I got over to the right hand side without problem.

Turns out I must’ve had the fuel switch set to ON and not RESERVE…not sure when I did that though.

The REAL meaning of Valentines Day

"For this was on seynt Volantynys day

This ... Read Morepoem was written to honor the first anniversary of the engagement of King Richard II of England to Anne of Bohemia.[18] A treaty providing for a marriage was signed on May 2, 1381.[19] (When they were married eight months later, he was 13 or 14, and she was 14.)

Readers have uncritically assumed that Chaucer was referring to February 14 as Valentine's Day; however, mid-February is an unlikely time for birds to be mating in England.

I'm sorry if you feel that that makes you feel your "authority" has been challenged or you've been "provoked". If so: :notworth: But if you're evaluating every post (especially in Off Topic) based on whether it supports your authority or undermines it, well...:scared

and he specifically stated he was waiting for his infraction, I made sure as to not disappoint him. He openly said he was waiting for an infraction, and so he received it. I have no problems assisting people if I feel their intentions are justified in the requests they make.

Now the OP is actually outraged that he received an infraction (after originally asking for it).

It's even hard to please people when you do exactly what they ask.

The infraction was cool (and yeah I was joking about getting it, so deserved it), it was the apparent deletion of the thread that put me off because I thought it was at least slightly intellectually funny to have the thread mutating around some narrow topic definitions. Others apparently did too. But we can't decide that anymore with the post gone, can we?

And I find your prickliness about the rules being sacrosanct to make being here a lot less fun. And I question whether that was the intent in creating those rules...is the forum about The Rules or the conversation? Was it funny when George Carlin joked about the 7 rules you can't say on the air or was he (tut-tut) undermining authority?

Apologies for wasting anyone's time. Im putting a copy of this post in my BLOG in case this one disappears as well.
