After a long work week, I knew I wanted to get out and ride a bit with the missus. It's been awhile since the two of us went on a cruise together, and seeing as how the weather on Sunday was awesome, I wanted to go. As a matter of fact, I really didn't give her the option. I announced in my most commanding voice that we were going on a ride. She could have overruled me, of course, but I was hoping she wouldn't call my bluff.

It was at this point that I realized I had no destination...

Every other Friday has me running the store. I have to show up at about 7:15 to open and I won't put the key in the door again till after 6:15 that night. Needless to say, it makes for a long day. Imagine my surprise then when I pulled into the parking lot this last Friday to see one of my parts drivers, Ken, parked in front of the door waiting for me. I parked my bike and walked over to where he was to see what was happening.

This last Saturday found me sitting in front of the computer carrying on with others on this forum. I don't remember what the topic at hand was, and that's why I decided to leave it behind and go ride. The weather was nice and I couldn't bare the thought of letting a sunny day slip by without taking a ride on my motorcycle. Being so late in the year, one must jump at every opportunity to ride when it presents...

It occurs to me that at this time of year, I'm not so much interested in what kind of weather we're going to have--rain or sun--but...

This last week has seen several days where the cars have been frosted over in the morning but the roads still ridable. I suspect that my riding days may be numbered, though. At least this week looks good.

While riding home the other night I found myself following an older Chevy pickup truck. Probably mid-'70s vintage I'm thinking. I first approached the truck while it was facing northbound in line at a stop light at Highway 9 and Soper Hill Road. I actually wasn't directly behind it but one car back. The car directly in front of me was an SUV. You know the kind? So large you can't see over 'em.

It's just now after 8 o'clock in the morning. I couldn't sleep last night because of the rain. It was coming down so hard that it kept me up. My wife says she finds it soothing, and normally I do too. Maybe it was all those Mini-Reese's Cups I ate before going to bed?

I had originally planned to take today, Thursday, off as a vacation day. Then I remembered that a rep from Standard Motor Products was coming by the store to set a computer that we'll use to flash PCM's for newer cars. So, I decided to take yesterday off instead. The weatherman said Wednesday was suppose to be better than Thursday, anyways.

Sunday was an awesome day, weather wise. It was made for riding and the wife and I were itching to do just that. As many of you know, Sunday was also the day for the Oyster Run, and it was obvious something big was in the works. While eating breakfast at Ike's in Granite Falls, motorcycle after motorcycle came through town. We briefly talked about going to Anacortes, but neither of us felt comfortable riding into what could very well have been a hornet's nest of motorcycles, so we decided to play...

This is just a quick reminder to those of us that are still riding. The wife and I went for a quick ride after breakfast yesterday. While out on the back roads I observed in many spots leaves accumulating on the roadway. I wanted to remind all of you that these areas can be extremely hazardous, especially when they're located on a bend in the roadway.
