the closer I got to Odessa, the more and more I saw RV's with trailers and trucks with bikes.

looks like we got us a convoy!

Dry Bag Construction

Alrighty. I need some bags for Sunday's impending adventure.

So, I decided to stop talking about it and doing test bags (now that I have a mostly functional design) and finally make them.

Here's what I need to hold in each bag:

one rolled up hip wader. The idea being that once I can put my wader in there, I could put snacks, or a jacket, or something else if I wasn't planning...

Bag 1 seems to be working so well, and I don't want to get too frisky with stuffing it full...

So, onto bag 2.

This is a test, more than something usable. I'm making it with the small strip leftover from my last bag (size becomes apparent in bit).

2 big sides, with 2 small sides glued (kinda hard to see, I admit)

Well, I'm a fan of making stuff I could buy for cheaper, and would have it work better.

I'm an engineer, so I like to be hands-on, design, and make. However, my software engineering job leaves me longing to make stuff.

So...I went to the fabric store.


stuff I got for around $40
