Missing a Ratchet?
Posted 07-14-2008 at 03:28 PM by ratchet206
I fell off the planet a few months ago (Just before the gear roller skating event, apologies for missing that one.) for personal reasons unrelated to the forums here. I try not to make a habit of falling out of contact, it just happens to everyone sometimes. The rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated as they say. I've been putting in a LOT of miles on my bike lately... It's just about 11 months old and sitting at 11,000 miles right now, 800 of which I put on this last weekend.
Being a homo and a rider is tough since it's not a very popular sport with the gays... It's one of those things that I really haven't told anyone (a few of you know, though) because it 'doesn't matter', we're all here because we like bikes. I just don't like feeling like I have to hide it so I'm not going to anymore. Don't worry, I won't wave a rainbow flag or hit on all the guys (more so than I do already.
) every time I come out. I know a small hand full of the other gay bikers here and while we are not a close group at all, it is nice to know I'm not the only one. I know there's a few haters and that it might make some people uncomfortable but it's who I am so deal. If you have a problem, or questions... or if you're hot and wanna make out, see me.
In other, not so happy, news...
A close friend of mine, David (2kmcoupe), passed away on the 4th of July and he will be missed. He didn't post much here but he loved his motorcycles (All BMWs of course) and would ride whenever he had a chance. He stopped riding a while back due to the last accident he was in, but managed to get back on a few days before he passed. He was so excited to start riding his bike again and I looked forward to putting some miles in with him.

| | Sorry to hear about your friend. I'm glad he got one more ride in before passing though. It's been wonderful weather for riding, can't blame you for putting the miles on. ![]() |

| | prayers sent for your pal and everyone mourning him. and personally, i think its cool to have gay riders here. i'm not gay, but i like diversity. everyone here is who they are and as long as they ride for the right reasons, i'm friendly with 'em. if you're ever on the eastside, let me know. i'm always down for some twisties. |

| | "Straight but not narrow" here... I applaud you for not hiding who you are. I think quite a bit of the hating comes from ignorance and if people realized that they really DO know gay people and that we're all more similar than different, they'd get over it. |

| | Bikes aren't popular with gay men? Then why so much leather? But really, no worries here about you being gay. If you hit on me I'd just be flattered. |
