Wobsite Blag Update - Olympics Route

Gamuru and a few others have asked about my trip around the Olympics so this update is just going to be some details about that from my perspective.
I highly recommend making sure you have the entire day available for this (especially if you're starting from Seattle or somewhere similar.) It always takes longer than I predict so I've learned just to not make plans for the evening so I'm not rushing to get back. I'm generally too tired/sore to do anything after such a ride anyway.
The exact route I took is this: Click Here
The route I'd recommend for 'first time' rides would be this: Click Here
On this route you'll hit some better roads and it's about 100 miles shorter if you take the ferries. 112 is awesome and I tend to do this route counter-clockwise just so I'm not all worn our by the time I get to it.
I always leave early 6-8 AM and usually it takes me until 7-8 PM to get home. I can go 150 miles on a tank comfortably so I always pre-plan where I need to stop for gas. If you have GPS this step is probably not necessary, otherwise print a copy of this map and mark where the gas stations are. I always bring cash just incase (you really should carry some always) but have yet to need it on this trip. Cell phone coverage can be spotty in places so don't plan on being able to use it.
Watch out for ice on the roads once you get out to the peninsula! The fog can freeze on them if it was cold enough a night. It tends to burn off by about 10:30-11:00 AM, depending on the time of year.
I usually stop at Pacific Pizza in Forks, WA for lunch. There's a decent selection of other places to eat there as well, if pizza is not your thing.
