How Evel K. received his endorsement

Posted 03-03-2014 at 06:46 PM by neverseenrain

While visiting AIMe Expo in Orlando Florida, we met all kinds of motorcycle enthusiasts with interesting stories to share. This time we got to meet up with up with Mr. R.M. from Bluff City, Tennessee.

R. M. was a close buddy of Evel Knievel. He used to house Evil's bikes in his garage and tune them up when Evil was on the west coast. Evil even did a roofing commercial at R.M.'s house.

There are different opinions of Evil's personality, but being optimists, we asked...

01/24/06 Up early...poke my head out of the sheets...fog on the window...stumble around...coffee...shower...and then peek outside...fog..thick heavy fog...but it's pretty warm...60-ish....gonna be even warmer later..bike riding weather.
I think a t-shirt and leather jacket oughta do it...summer riding gloves...shorties...I open up the zippers on the front and back of my jacket...my favorite red bandana...can't find my do-rag.....so spot my 7...

I duck-walked the Harley over the snow and ice at the end of the driveway and took my kids for rides around the neighborhood (roads were dry). I think it was 36 degrees. Felt good to get the blood flowing again. 'Course the blood was frozen after a few minutes.

I rode to the Harley shop in Lacey, free lunch for the first 50 in line for the garage sale. We met at 7am at the bowling alley in Federal Way, only Rick showed up. I am going no matter what, need new rear tire, Rick just likes to ride. We are about 35 and 36 in line, and about the 9th and 10th bikes in the lot. Usual take off stuff on the tables, but parts were 10% off so I did what was expected. The great part was the free lunch at the Ram restaurant, any of the 1/2lb burgers off the menu, + fries/Coke....

60 degrees in maryland today. Was out cruising in Annapolis. Alot of bikes were out today. Even got a chance to clean the bike up. Suppose to be in the 40's tomorrow, but as long as the sun is out, so will I.

One of the wonderful things about living here in the NW, is a particular heated clothing company has headquarters in the little town of Union, on Hood Canal. So, I got off work, (not really work, just a part time retirement gig,) and decided I would ride out and have them change the plugs on my jacket liner. Weather check shows no rain until 8pm, so I should be dry. I don't really know why the weather guy here gets paid, I could do better! Can you see Mt. Rainier? It is going to rain. Can't see...

Thoughts on changing riding styles...,Speed to Cruising

Posted 09-22-2013 at 11:46 AM by Lone Rider

Recently did the big change from sport bikes to cruisers.
This was brought about during a stint as the Deck Boss of a 325' fish processing ship. I was laying in my bunk hurting and aching from a 12 hour shift directing insanely hyper 20 somethings in the nonstop work that happens on the deck of the ship. It was also my 57th Birthday. I allowed that if I hurt this bad now I would really be hurting on my next foray in dirt riding. So I gave myself permission to never own a serious MX or Enduro...

No you are not going to CRASH.

Posted 06-04-2013 at 07:44 AM by SethSpeaks

Yes I hear it all the time. You are going to go down itís only a matter of time.
How can I word this delicately BULLSHIT !

Can we please stop scaring the hell out of new riders by insisting that they are going to crash and that it is only a matter of time. Yes you are going to drop your bike in some lame fashion or another at some point in your motorcycle owning days. You will forget to put the kickstand down or get a pant leg caught on a peg and go over. This is really...

Big Bike Little Bike

After riding my little ninja 250 a couple years now people always ask me, Hey when are you going to upgrade?

I think we should get all the known factors out of the way so that we are all on the same sheet of music.
Yes the bike is smaller then most bikes.
Yes the bike is only a 250.
Yes it is considered to be one of the best beginner bikes.

I am always amazed that people think that because of some the yes answers above that this bike can not be...
