WTF is wrong with all you "winter riders?" Do you really enjoy freezing your balls off? Is Gas that expensive? Can you really only afford one vehicle? I don't get it! I can kind of understand using the bike for commuting when it's just barely inclimate, but freezing? Why? It's just commuting - not anything special. And if you're out trying to rail in sub-freezing temps, you're retarded. No question.
So, Why? Why ride when it's freezing outside?

WTF is wrong with all you "riders?" Do you really enjoy being so unsafe? Is Gas that expensive? Can you really not afford a big safe car? I don't get it! I can kind of understand using the bike for bike shows, or if you professionally race, but street riding? Why? It's just riding - not anything special. And if you're out trying to rail, you're retarded. No question.
So, Why?

I don't ride in snow or ice, but November has been surprisingly nice. I even wore my non-winter jacket to Tacoma and back last night. For whatever your idea of "reasonable" is, there's others that are more crazy than you are, and many more that think *you're* the loon for riding at all.Posted 11-27-2008 at 06:25 PM by silverfoxc

And yes I can only afford one vehicle as I am a broke ass college student. Plus, riding rain makes you better rider.Posted 11-28-2008 at 03:10 AM by shanks8318

Any day looking over the handlebars beats any day looking through the windshield of my truck... raining or not. I really don't remember any time ever that I got home grinning ear to ear after driving my truck. Now, if you ask me the same about my bike... Boy, I've got some stories to tell. Wouldn't trade it for the world!Posted 11-28-2008 at 08:29 AM by Gamuru

I can kind of understand riding in the rain, I do it in the summer. But, here on the Eastside it's below 45* from Nov 1st until March 1st - and that's high temps I'm talking about. It's freezing in the morning/eve.
Is it just that there are an overwhelming number of motorcyclists only here? I mean, I love my bike, but I've also got a fun car to drive if it's less than nice. Does everyone drive Malibu's, or other trucks?Posted 11-28-2008 at 09:54 AM by ted_garlock

Riding is a compulsion for me. It's an addiction. As I'm writing this, I'm waiting for my laundry and checking pass reports. It is cold and wet here in Yakima, But I feel the need to get a ride in while it's still rideable weather. Good gear goes a long way to making the weather bearable, and I take pride in the riding being a part of my life, rather than a simple hobby to be dabbled in when the weather is nice enough.
Also, my car is running like crap, and I'm too broke to fix it up.
