I left a voicemail with Cecil in case his group were thinking of heading that direction. Looks like most of the smoke is blowing northeast, but Lewiston is pretty ugly this morning with it and we're not even in the air quality advisory area. My lungs and heavy smoke don't get along well, so I'm not going to risk heading down the Rattlesnake and within 10 miles or so of the fire. INSTEAD, I'm thinking I'll jog west to Wally World and meet up with Steve's group in Pilot Rock or thereabouts. It looks like you'll be there at about 10, so I'll shoot to be there about a half hour early and hope there's a cafe I can chill at. If that doesn't work, give me a call, Steve. I'll be home all day. Another topic.........I just talked to the Oregon Trail Motel and they said they only have 5 rooms (including mine) reserved for our group. If you have not already told them you are part of of "Steve's Ride" then you need to tell them at check in to take advantage of our group rate.
