Police blocked off an entire free way for us, the #'s were from 350 to 400+ just in the group we were riding in. There were some smaller groups already there when we arrived. The protesters did show but were a very small group in comparison. I heard the # of people that showed, (cagers and bikes) was around 1500- 2000 people. I will load some of the pics I have and post. |

On a serious note, the protesters were such hypocrits, how could they say all the things they were about America, but yet wear the American Flag? And if they were so Anti American, why dont they move to another country? | |

The cops were totally cool and waved at us as we passed and a few walked up to some of us and said.."You guys are Awesome for coming out." I thought it was super cool that the some of the organizers and other groups that showed up walked through the bikes thanking us for coming out as well. |

| Newbie Joined: Feb 2007 From: Pasco, WA I Ride: GSXR600 | By FAR the best ride I have ever been a part of. I will never forget riding into the TRACC between all those flags. The protestors were so few and were really insignificant. You had to look for them to find them. Was a beautiful thing we did today. I was very proud to be there. Kudos to all who participated and thanks for posting the pics. I really enjoyed meeting some of the PNW Riders as well. My first ride with you was the most memorable I have ever been on. |

When we got to TRAC, we rode through Rows and rows of Americans, most with flags. They lined the driveway to TRAC. They clapped and wished us well as we rode to support the family and friends of our fallen Marine. THIS is what we saw. 4 Misguided protesters, the street seperating them and Vets and Patriot Guards. Standing in the parking lot I got a call from Travis's sister. She called to let me know she was getting in to the limo to head to our staging area and asked "did any bikes show up?" It choked me up as I said "you won't believe your eyes"... The family were blown away... to see everyone, the bikes and the huge amout of support from strangers. She said later from as they took the exit to the Trac Facility she looked back and saw mile after mile of bikes. For me personally, pulling onto the streets leading to the facility, pulling into the rows of American flags, seeing the faces of our community, looking at us on bikes as a symbol of unity, it was overwhelming. Something I will never forget. What a great biker send off! R.I.P Travis! |

I wanted to go but the wife couldn't drive me out to be part of it. I will be at future missions! My heart sank when I knew I wasn't going. It makes me proud to be an American and a Veteran to see all the support for our "Fallen Hero's". A Hero is someone that does the right thing no matter the person outcome. Our troops definitely fit that description! The rest of the supporters are "Model Citizens" for the respect that they show. Rest in Peace Travis. Tru. |

| Zone Head Joined: Nov 2006 From: Walla Walla I Ride: Twisted on a 2004 Tracked Gixxer 750; 2006 KTM 450SMR | Hi guys... below I will paste an email that went out to the Patriot Guard regarding Travis's rally... --------------- To all of you: This email is going out to all of those who listed their emails on the Patriot Guard Riders sign in sheets at the Service for Sgt. Travis Pfister, last Sunday. First of all let me say THANKYOU !!!!. I am a few days late with that, but it took a couple of days just to "decompress" What an outstanding group, to have 450 + bikes, all doing the same thing for the same reason was awesome. You have raised the bar on family support to a level that will be hard for anyone in the nation to exceed. I know that this was the largest turnout ever in the Northwest, and one of the largest ever in the nation in the history of the Patriot Guard Riders. Second: I have an email list that I use to spread the initial word about upcoming services in Washington,(sometimes Oregon and Idaho), which I have temporarily added you to. If you do not wish to be included on that list simply reply to this email and put "Please Delete" in the Subject Line. I would encourage anyone who wished to to register at the Patriot Guard Riders web site www.patriotguard.org Registration is free, but does give you access to more forums, than are available to unregistered guests, including state forums for the northwestern states. Being registered also allows you to post to the mission threads, Most of the Families, and the Military officers assisting them, do read the mission threads, and the condolences posted really do matter to them. When you are registered and logged in, and find a mission thread you want to follow there is a box you can check to get emails everytime someone posts to that thread. I do this commonly on local missions, just to keep updated on what plans are being made. If you wonder where some of the members got the Hats, Decals, Etc that you saw, you can purchase them either on the main website,(the store there is owned by the PGR and all proceeds go for to support the PGR, purchase plaques for the family, run the website etc. You can also purchase them from "Twisters Store" www.patriotguardstore.org Twister was one of the founders of the PGR and the first Director. He owns this store privately, but donates much of the profits to PGR and other Veterans causes. Third: Now for the bad news. Eastern WA had another casualty this week. Spc. Ryan Bell of Colville (north of Spokane) was killed north of Bagdad on Monday. We have received a request from the Family to attend, and have members organizing things at this time. Early indications are that the memorial service will be held Saturday March 17, in the early afternoon. Unfortunately we have a chance to repay the support that we received last week from a group that rode down from Spokane much sooner than we had hoped. You can keep abreast of developements by watching the thread for this mission http://www.patriotguard.org/Forums/t...c/Default.aspx Again Thank you all for turning out for Sgt. Pfister, If anyone knows who it was that asked the Pasco PD for the use of their PA please let me know, I apologize to whoever that was, but my brain did not record their name. Jeff Matson Yakima District Captain Patriot Guard Riders |
