Coast Range Ride
two buds and myself took a biker ride to the Coast on Monday 04-20-09. We went from Philomath to Kiings Valley, then on to Willamina. We headed West into the Coast Range. We were on a nice (unnamed)one lane black top road. When we got to the top the road was covered with storm debris. We hd to turn around and returned to (Bible Creek Road?), because the snow was still to deep to pass on top. We ended up coming out on 101 in Beaver, Or. about 55 miles North of Newport. We stopped at the Pelican in Pacific City for food and rehydration.. We came home via the Siletz Rd. to Toledo, and then back to Philomath.

Sounds like one of my rides. Were you on the st1300?

I was out yesterday as well but I was a bit south of you mapping out an all pave back road route to Cape Perpetua (with a few gravel "construction" zones, none more than 1/4 mile long).

No pics???

And FWIW, all those roads have names, errrr rather numbers. It is just that a lot of the signs are no longer there. A forest service map is really handy when exploring those areas, if it is not national forest then your next best bet for a map is a gazetteer. Even the AAA county maps can come in handy.
