Not too much of a newbie but haven't ridden much in big groups, and always up for a ride. Care If I tag along? Last edited by Osufireman; 04-23-2009 at 11:25 AM.. |

We really would just like an attendance count so we can set up experienced riders to volunteer as leads and sweeps. Thank you to those who have already signed up. - |

| Pit Crew Joined: Oct 2008 From: Corvallis, OR I Ride: SV650, part deux | Yes... if the weather is really bad, we will cancel the ride but have a meet-n-greet at Premier Motogear instead. Now, if the weather is merely bad... We'll keep this thread updated with any news. |

| Pit Crew Joined: Oct 2008 From: Corvallis, OR I Ride: SV650, part deux | I rode most of the route this afternoon. Bellfountain to Monroe is good. Noraton Road just before the Lane County line has some debris in the road from a fallen tree limb (probably from yesterday's wind storm.) Gap Road has some gravel in the corners in the twisty section. I didn't get a chance to ride from Brownsville north via Sand Ridge Rd. Hopefully someone will get to it before next weekend. |

| Pit Crew Joined: Oct 2008 From: Corvallis, OR I Ride: SV650, part deux | That depends... Are you comfortable riding your bike? Can you handle basic maneuvers and make your way in traffic safely? The 1000 mile recommendation is only that... My biggest concern is trying to minimize the risk of someone losing control and taking someone else out because they can't handle their ride. |

| Newbie Joined: May 2009 From: Corvallis, OR | Happy to help out Hey hey! I am free Saturday morning, and have 30k miles of experience across three bikes, with 7-8k on my current R6. All three have been R6's; I just kept getting the new-bike fever. I am happy to lead or sweep. Either way I feel I can give some good feedback to anyone looking to hear it. Orus: is that your first bike?!? If so....you *may* need to get out before this ride. An R1 is a serious bike with very little room for error. One twitch of the throttle in a decent corner and you will lose the rear wheel with little room for correction on dry pavement (unless of course you are used to it and do it on purpose....MotoGP anyone?). On wet pavement? I slip my rear wheel frequently with my measly R6 when the road is wet, unintentionally. Enough with the scary talk: I might be available for a quick jaunt this week if there is decent weather, to give you an idea of where you are at. |

| Pit Crew Joined: May 2009 From: eugene, oregon I Ride: Black VTX & Blue FZ1 | Hello! I would like to join the ride if it's ok for someone from Eugene to tag along. I have more than your 1000 mile limit under my belt but 99% of the miles are riding solo. Some group experience at a beginner level would be good for me. Don't worry about me needing to exceed any speed limits ...I'm an old guy and ride like an old guy... I won't bail unless the weather is real ugly. Thanks -jc |

| Streetfighter Joined: Jun 2007 From: Oregon I Ride: my own ride. | Volunteers Since tbolt asked me to lead (and I'm calling you out), I am going to run this route Friday evening to familiarize myself and double check for hazards after the past week of rain. Anyone want to join me for a quick loop around the valley, I'll be at the Bi-Mart on 53rd by 6:00pm. It also looks like we have four of us volunteering to lead and sweep and although we would like an accurate head count, if any newbies too shy to post want to come on out, we'll do what we can to accommodate. |
