Hey ducatichick – the family & I saw you drive by, kind of slow , now I guess I know why! Holy shit batman - $242! … What!, is the county going to float public health care on speeding ticket revenue!!!!???? Mile post 46, hmmm, let me guess – the straight just before the bridge?

Not to jump on the band wagon …. Maybe a ‘blue’ Ducati in your future?

Yeah...it does...I was wondering about how I can use that to my advantage.

The ticket hander-outer was a young cop "in training". They were both nice, just doing their jobs. I could have easily run from these guys, but no, I did the responsible thing and now I pay for it. Maybe I should bring my old AMA roadracing license to court with me and point this out to them And besides, I ride a RED bike!!!

$242 does seem steep to me - I have not gotten a ticket since 2003 and that was in my 84 Scirocco Got nabbed once in ~1997 in Virginia by a lady state trooper - she actually thanked me for pulling over and not running. I was going 80+ in a 55, wreckless driving - went to court, she told the judge how nice I was, and I got off with $100 fine. Inflation I guess.

Deputy Reynolds has grade schooler hand writing, and needs his eyes checked. A lawyer would get it cleared. He has you down being checked with radar. Was he stopped or moving? I wonder if it was recently calibrated and checked for accuracy.......

I got the slow blue bike for sure. But my last trip through there was over that quite a bit. Perhaps I too will slow it down a bit. Perhaps.

no more racing over the hill to get a beer from Jackal... bad rick! Or perhaps I will just wait until I see officer friendly race out of town to another accident on Hwy 20.

He was heading towards Alsea, I was heading away from Alsea...took his time turning around and pursuing me, finally turned the twinklies on shortly before the long uphill passing zone to Mary's Peak Rd.

I could have lost the guy easy but no, I was being "responsible". I'm thinking if the deputy can't figure out what color my bike is, surely he can't read a radar correctly

As for calibration...who knows, but there's a good chance of it being 1 mph off...maybe get my ticket changed from 76 in 55 to 75 in 55 and reducing my fine - at least that's what the mentor deputy told me: it was that extra 1mph that jacked up the fine, and all but one of the judges might reduce it for me. Will see on 8/31 at 9am. 76 sure didn't seem fast, it's not like I was in town or in construction/school zone!

I was standing in front of my speeding/qualifying sticker hoping they wouldn't see it

That sucks. There is always a county working that section especially by the mobile home park. Thats why i don't like leading the pack but second probably isn't much safer. The fine is bad but not the worst, its the damage it does to your insurance that leaves the lasting sting.

Way back when Oregon jacked the fines way up i received an 88 in a 55 and the base fine was $500.

Actually i just dodged a street racing ticket about six months ago. Never spin your tires down the street in a big smoky exhibition rite in front of a state trooper. They really don't like that but they must hate going to court more because the officer didn't show up and the ticket was thrown out. That was the day i swore off smoking my tires ever again.

Thats not me you cant prove anythign copper.

What I think this means: the tag assigner (R1 Jackal, in this case) should buy the ticketee (me, in this case) a microbrew!

Mentor copper said my insurance would not go up, because I have State Farm and this is my first speeding ticket in 6+ years...we shall see. Just realized this is my 3rd ticket on a motorcycle in 20 years of riding.

I'll post the next tag later today, after "work".

That sounds like it ought to be a standing rule: anyone who gets a ticket in pursuit of a photo tag gets a single beverage of their choice purchased for them at the next bike night by the poster.

I don't think it would get out of control, because that would be some expensive brewskis - $242 for one!

Ducatichick – You know I got your back on the beer; you know you didn’t have to get a $242 ticket for me to buy you one! But promise me that you’ll run interference when FreeRadical finds out and begins a chain reaction, dragging me to the curb and beating by ‘blue’ bike owning ass to a bloody pulp. I’ve seen this guy’s profile picture – scares the crap out of me ….

All I meant was that we borrowed the game from Roseburg (even had Roseburg participating) but just getting the photo tag wasn't enough, she had to bring the game to a whole new level.

Looks like the high for tomorrow around here is supposed to be 72F. I'm guessing it will be cooler than that in many areas along our ride tomorrow, so bring some extra clothes!

duh, this was supposed to be posted for the ride on Sat 8/15...

Photo tag slows a little bit during the weekend, we get busy, but don't worry there was plenty of talk at Saturday morning coffee. We saw the flag pole and discussed what the building could be. The new pic sure helps, someone will get it.

This is on Sand Ridge Road just South West of Lebanon, you'd never see it riding South as it is blocked by a newer, larger school.

That's ok, Elton. You can come sit with Ducatichick and I. We'll never get any of them either.

We can be the peanut gallery. Or maybe the bitingly witty MST3K crowd.

I appreciate it!

However, someone's going to get this one and it's not going to be me. The second half of this game is finding the time to grab the camera and take an extra ride just to take a picture of some random object.
