4th Annual Polar Bear Ride - 1/1/2010 @ 1pm
This is a courtesy cross-post from the OSU Motorcycle mailing list.

“ Quote:
Take a little break from football at 1 p.m. on New Year's Day and ride your motorcycle to start the year out right!

4th Annual Polar Bear Ride
Meet at the downtown Beanery
(Allann Bros.), 500 SW 2nd St.
1 p.m.
All riders, all bikes welcome

Meet for coffee. Ride from there with those that wish to, or just ride there and home, but ride in the new year!

Date and time are easy to remember: 1-1 at 1
Yeah, yeah, it'll likely be more "rainy bear" than "polar bear" but come join us all the same.

Oh no, not another "pack your toothbrush" ride.

That was my first thought, but figured I'd get tarred & feathered if I said it!

sounds fun but im sure a rear tire down to the belts in the rain is a bad idea

I will be layed up after the knee surgery. I will be playing MotoGP on the PS2 hooked up to my R6 front end controller. I will be riding either way!

Is there a set route for this ride or is it a free for all?

There is no planned ride. How you decide to get to the Beanery is up to you.

This doesn't mean that someone can't organize a ride before or after the meeting time...

The weather forecast is calling for some serious rain tomorrow, are some people still planning on riding in?

I'm riding, but with my recent frozen 8º commute, 43º and rain is a ride in the park.

Not really sure but Bellfountain, Monroe, Territorial, Junction City, Harrisburg, Peoria is one option. Another would be Kings Valley, Monmouth, Independence, Buena Vista.

Or someone else could choose the route, I don't care.

I'd be up for a ride. Either of those routes sound good to me.

I Ride: like a tidy cat.
I hope you guys saw me peel off on Springhill road to go back to Albany, wish I had a better way of signaling. I probably would not have made it to Corvallis and was seriously expecting to run dry and knock on someones door asking if they had a gas can. But I putted along the last 5 miles and made it to a Chevron. Good stuff, nice ride.
