Thanks for the invite Bobby. Can't watch moto gp, but you can do it at home! Here is the youngest PNW rider around, totally setup around turn #1.

Yeah, I had a similar thought. The windshield wipers on my pickup are in really bad shape. I thought that if I replaced them, maybe the rain would stop for the rest of the summer. It's worth a shot!

Paddock opinion of Simoncelli and Pedrosa clash

The incident between Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) and Marco
Simoncelli (San Carlo Honda Gresini Team) which occurred during
the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France, caused much talk
amongst the paddock, as to who was to blame for the incident
and whether the ride through penalty was the correct decision.

The clash between the two Honda riders, put Pedrosa out of the race and cost him the chance to go top of the MotoGP World Standings. The Spaniard suffered a broken collarbone in the accident. Simoncelliís manouerve was declared illegal by Race Direction and he was punished with a ride through penalty which dropped the Italian to fifth position, preventing him from a maiden rostrum finish. After much recent debate in the MotoGP paddock about safety issues and contact between riders, you can read the thoughts below of those involved, plus other riderís and personnel on the moment the two riders locked horns.

Dani Pedrosa, Repsol Honda
ĒSimoncelli overtook me, I passed him back and I had the better line. He just came into me, releasing the brakes and I could do nothing. I leave here with a broken collarbone and he with a ride through penalty, good for him! Yet again I come out worse off. We only just recovered from the nightmare of the last operation and now Iím hurt again. It is very unfair, I donít deserve it.Ē

Marco Simoncelli
ďFor me I havenít done anything incorrect, so for me this is a race Ďactioní (incident). I saw in the video that his bike was hopping a little bit and he lost the line, he touched me, when I saw he couldnít make the corner I picked the bike up but it was too late. He touched me on the back and he crashed. For me the punishment from Race Direction was because of all the controversy of the last few days, and from Estoril. For me if the same thing happened without me they would penalise nobody. This is my point of view.Ē

Valentino Rossi, Ducati Team
ĒFor me, I think this time, Simoncelli was too hard, maybe it was a bit too aggressive, as Dani had no room to make anything. I think itís also a mistake because at that part of the race Simoncelli arrive strong so maybe instead of overtaking Dani under braking, he could overtake him on the next lap.Ē

Alberto Puig, Pedrosaís manager
ďFor a long while the fact that Simoncelli is dangerous has been talked about and I believe he really is ignorant, that he doesnít understand anything about whatís going on. This guy has to be reprimanded, I hope the Security Commission does something because this isnít the first time. He was already warned in Estoril, Lorenzo spoke with him and it seems he doesnít take notice of anyone. For starters the manoeuvre is wrong, because Pedrosa had taken the position but he (Simoncelli) has tried to force it. Secondly, heís made somebody crash and break a bone. This is something serious.Ē

Nicky Hayden, Ducati Team
ĒIíve had one look at it so I didnít really get to slow it down and watch it a couple of times, so Iím not really sure. Itís between them two, they donít need me to weigh in on it as Iím sure everyone will have an opinion on it. Two guys racing hard, things can happen, thereís been a lot of drama this weekend, a lot of arm waving and this and that.Ē

Livio Suppo, HRC Communication and Marketing Director
ďI think he did a mistake honestly, that can happen. Unfortunately itís been a mistake with a bad consequence as Pedrosa was already in front of him and he (Simoncelli) closed the door and it was impossible for Dani to do anything.Ē

Casey Stoner, Repsol Honda
ĒI havenít had a chance to see the incident yet so for me itís impossible to make a judgement at this moment.Ē

Andrea Dovizioso, Repsol Honda
ĒI didnít see on the tv so I canít say something about that.Ē Referring to a similar incident that occurred during his race for Lorenzo, the Italian commented, ďThe important thing to understand is if the rider wants to do this or he just brakes too late. This is something dangerous; when the rider arrives too late, you donít see the rider and this is not nice when you are riding.Ē

Twas a good GP race...Simoncelli took Pedrosa out. Pedrosa has a broken collarbone. Simoncelli got a penalty for his actions and had to buzz through the hot pit. Stoner won. Rossi got 3rd. Can't remember who got 2nd. Some guy.

The 125 race was awesome... (I was the only one watching it - the boys went outside to gossip and I got some ME time)

Yamaha to mark 50th anniversary of GP racing with special livery

Yamaha Factory Racing team riders Jorge Lorenzo and
Ben Spies will display special red and white liveries on
their YZR-M1 machines at the Assen and Laguna Seca
races this season.

Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP 50th Anniversary Edition livery

This year marks a special one for Yamaha, as in 2011 the Japanese factory celebrates its 50th anniversary of World Championship Grand Prix racing. As part of a series of ongoing activities to mark this historic season the Yamaha Factory Racing team will run a special livery for the Assen and Laguna Seca rounds.

The ĎYZR-M1 WGP50th Anniversary Editioní will be unveiled by riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies at a special event on June 22nd, close to the Assen circuit. The unique red and white livery design pays homage to the iconic Yamaha Factory Racing liveries of the past with a modern twist, and as well as being sported by Lorenzo and Spies on their respective machines the colours will also appear on all Yamaha staff and team crew as well as the Yamaha Factory Racing teamís pit box.

A special 50th Anniversary logo is also being used this season. The logo is proudly displayed on the 2011 YZR-M1 fuel tank, on all Yamaha Factory Racing Team uniforms, within the pit garage of riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies and also on the Yamaha Factory Racing trucks.

A special website is also celebrating the 50th anniversary, with an impressive archive tracking the history of Yamahaís involvement with racing along with detailed historical information. Throughout the season the site will be regularly updated with columns and videos along with exclusive messages and interviews of key people involved in the World Championship Grand Prix racing story of Yamaha.

Jorge Lorenzo:
"I love these colours, they really have a historic significance. Read, Agostini, they all ran similar colour schemes when they won so the opportunity to use it on the YZR-M1 is really nice. Itís a very special year for Yamaha and we hope that these colours will give us luck in these two races."

Ben Spies:
"Iím really excited about running with these colours. Itís a big year for Yamaha and my first with the Factory Team. To be able to run a special livery like that in Assen and also for my home race at Laguna is awesome. I think itís going to look really good and Iím looking forward to everyone being able to see it."

Shigeto Kitagawa, President of Yamaha Motor Racing:
"It is my pleasure and honour to announce that we will unveil the ĎYZR-M1 WGP50th Anniversary Editioní at the Assen TT and Laguna Seca race. I believe that the newly designed Red and White livery not only recollects our brilliant memories in the past but also makes us feel the power to create new history. I believe it will be great fun for the fans and racing enthusiasts all over the world to see Jorge and Ben riding to win with this special YZR-M1."
