Bomb Squad in Corvallis!

Oregon State Police have allowed administrators back into the Kerr Administration building at Oregon State University after a report of a suspicious package evacuated university employees for about an hour.

Someone reportedly found a suspicious package about noon in the building, located at 15th Street and Jefferson Avenue. Oregon State Police's Bomb Unit came from Salem to the building as a precaution, said Lt. Gregg Hastings.

Police said that there was surplus computer equipment in the unmarked cardboard box

"The box wasn’t marked, we just found in an odd place," said Lt. Steve Mitchell, OSU area command for state police. "It was unaccounted for by everyone in the basement level. No one knew where it came from.

I saw a Zerox employee get his tool box blown up in Sacramento, he set it down outside the rest room, and forgot it. When he realized what had happened the State Police bomb squad had already "Dispatched" it.

It is a sad commentary on the society we live in.

It's funny now, but what if they did nothing and it turned out to be a bomb........and we now have 300 students and staff dead.

Would you all think they overreacted then?

On the plus side I bet the IT guy that left it there is happy he doesn't have to fill out the surplus forms for disposing of the old equipment.
