| Training Wheels Joined: Oct 2009 From: Corvallis, OR I Ride: 1982 Yamaha Seca Turbo | Howdy all! I have put a new article up on my Examiner.com page. I know that you are all just chomping at the bit to read it, or not... This one has some fairly shocking pictures that you can show your friends who have a bad habit of yakking on the phone, doing their nails or reading the paper while driving their two ton death machines. Feel free to subscribe while you are there so you receive an email notification when I post a new article. You can find it here: http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-1...rcycle-vs-cage |

| Training Wheels Joined: Oct 2009 From: Corvallis, OR I Ride: 1982 Yamaha Seca Turbo | I feel a little odd having been the last one to post in here, and for the same thing, but shameless self whoring is something that I am getting pretty good at. I mean, promotion, self promotion... whatever. I have posted a new article, and most of you may even know the guy who it is about. I did an interview with Jonas at Independent Motorcycle Repair. I also asked him about going to a Corvallis bike night and he said that he was trying to be committed to the next one. I hope he shows. So, you can find the story here: Independent Motorcycle Repair Ride safe everyone. |

| Training Wheels Joined: Dec 2009 From: Lebanon, Oregon I Ride: 09 Ninja 650R | Hi, I followed a link from another member here. I'm 49 for a few more days and been riding for not quite 2 years. Dh also rides (but doesn't do the internet thing). He returned to riding about 2 years ago after a 20+ year hiatus. Right now, most of our riding is commuting and sometimes we get in a day ride. We'd like to tour more...but you know...finding the time. We also like bicycling both road and mountain. Anyways, just wanted to post up and say howdy! |

Although I know that quite a few of you were there on Saturday, for those that missed it I have a slide show here, and there will be at least one, possibly two more slide shows in the near future. | Newbie Joined: Jan 2010 From: Halsey, Oregon I Ride: H-D V-Rod | Hello Group... Just introducing myself, my name is Jim and I have a V-Rod and I must say I like it. I enjoy riding the back roads, I will occasionally traverse the dirt/gravel to get somewhere, but prefer pavement and no traffic with this bike. Longest trip so far was about 1300 miles, pretty wimpy I know, but it was a blast and I am looking forward to many more in the future. Long term goal would be to journey to the southern tip of Argentina. |

| Training Wheels Joined: Oct 2009 From: Corvallis, OR I Ride: 1982 Yamaha Seca Turbo | I have a new article. This one was kind of a bit of fun, a winter reminder of why we ride. It is obvious that riding in a cage has made me soft, as I am kind of a whiny ass at the beginning of the story. However, with a ride in the rain, that put me back in the right place. I know that some of us ride year round and are scoffing at me (you know who you are...) but some of us have to cart our crotchfruit around during the school year, so the cage becomes a convenience. | Training Wheels Joined: Jan 2010 From: Lebanon, Oregon I Ride: DR650 & CB250 Adventure bike | Lebanon Rider Hey, I'm Smilin Jack (Dave) and have been riding since 1962. Mostly into dual-sport, but about 80% pavement getting to where the good stuff starts. Had a great rainy ride last weekend out of Sweet Home, with mud/rain/snow and only did one "get off" when the front tire slid out from under me in the icy snow. No harm/foul and rode home happy. Ride a DR650 with 13K miles on it. Also ride a CB250 Adventure bike with 35K miles on it, mostly around Oregon. Here are some links to rides taken in the last few years. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...462338&page=25 http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=441736 http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=469125 Have made two pizza nights and enjoyed the company. Hope to do some rides with the group soon. Sometimes my 13 year old granddaughter rides along. (Yeah, some say I'm old) Dave |
