Looked around, visited with my favorite manufactures, got a Touratech catalog, shot pics of all the cool shit and plenty of uncool stuff too. Thought that I should keep am eye on tile so i dis not miss the 5:30 ferry. It was 2:05 PM. At least I ran into an old landlord, had some good laughs, hung out and circulated everything at least twice. Was bored enough that i almost listened to the ScamWow! presentation. At least i did not pay to get in. Now I'm enjoying a nice ride back home on tje ferry. In 3 hours i ran out of interesting stuff to see. Anyone else bail after a couple of hours? :/ UPDATE: All my pics are here (sorry the first page are all pics of the bad weather during the crossing) http://fotoveloce.smugmug.com/galler...36969370_eXFNy Last edited by DesmoDave; 12-15-2008 at 01:34 AM.. | tippie | I just drove 6 hours in a blizzard to socialize with the eastsiders ![]() But it was GREAT to meet most of yer perty faces n put em to the avatars and say hi to those I've already met. Even tho the show was quite a bit smaller it was nice to find parking, nicer to not be bumper to bumper people shoving their way thru small isles- yup, I'd go again |

| Endorsed Joined: Dec 2008 From: Ferntucky, WA I Ride: 07' Triumph Tiger, 08' Daytona 675, 07' Aprilia RSV1KR | It was my first IMS. Not having anything to compare it to it was good. I got to sit on a lot of bikes and was able eliminate some bikes from my search list. That in itself was worth it. The folks at Adventure Motorsports are offering up a killer deal on a GSX-R1000 that I may be taking another look at. The Progressive girls provided a good place to meet up with lost family members ![]() The Pyramid Ale House was as good as ever. ![]() I'll definitely go again next year |

I thought the duc SF was a little over priced (as are all ducs) but interesting. The show was smaller then i expected...went to several shows that were dealer only in denver that were larger then that one. I like the fact that nobody said anything as i sat on just about every bike on the floor (even the bikes on the lean stands!) Got some awsome pics of some of the bikes... I thought the classic bike area was a little sparse.....cool that it was there, but def. needed more bikes.... |

| MotoGP Contender Joined: Apr 2008 From: Port Angeles, WA 98362 I Ride: 2004 SV650S | Basically what everyone above said. Show should have been free. The idea of one of these shows is to promote motorcycles and riding but I felt like I was just at a dealership. No swag to speak of really. Got a tote bag at the entrance and some cheap earbuds from the jackfm tent. I considered buying show items like gear or bags or even custom earplugs but honestly the value wasn't there. I can get a superior deal online for the same items or at a local shop. The mountain goat stunter was fun to watch but not my kind of exciting. Bottom line: show can be easily walked in 2 hours and there really wasn't much to look at compared to other national locations this event has been hosted at. I expected manufacturers to actually try to promote their items but I felt like they didn't put much effort into it. This show was as much fun as wet winter riding from point A to B. |

| Streetfighter Joined: Sep 2006 From: Auburn, WA I Ride: Harley | Since I go to the show to physically see all the stuff I enjoy reading about, I was satisfied. Could have been more vendors, but folks are running a bit soft, until we see how things shake out. I appreciated meeting Brian Bosworth, of Destination Highways, and telling him how much I enjoy reading and using his guides. And I bought one of his Companion Maps. Didn't have to pay for parking, since I was lucky enough to be able to ride in. (Sat. morning) Had a discount coupon, for 3 bucks, left some of the 2 buck coupons on the ticket counter. Overall, I rate it a B. Got to ride in, with my B-I-L. Met several of the guys I ride with for lunch at the Pyramid. Thot the TwinLine CB 350 was slick. I will go again. |

Racer was supposed to send me a catalog months ago. The style I'm interested in is their "high end" line but I'd be willing to take a look at whatever you've got left. |

I don't think i will ever attend another IMS event. The only cool thing there was being able to catch up with Brian (cityslicker) from Legends buell. But i could just drove to Bremerton to see him. and he woulda let me demo something ![]() |

Good group photo, missed the Meet at Three cuz I was looking for coffee cheaper than 5 bucks ! All in all, I think the club house will get more traffic, better reviews and we will have to stock up on booty girls. |

| Superbiker ![]() Joined: Mar 2008 From: Seattle, WA | Was okay. Dont know what the big dissapointment was. Was about the same size as the DFW one I attended previously. Had some interesting bikes to ogle (RC8, Duc SF, Buell 1125, racebikes, those artwork bikes, etc). Lee Parks was interesting to listen to wrt suspension and his "10 steps to perfect cornering". Of course, I walked 50 minutes to get there, not driving 3+ hours across the state/interstate.....that would have been a different story (I wouldnt have in the first place). EDIT: And Joe's hotdog stand was friggin awesome. In the top two hotdogs Ive ever had. |

Meh.... Smaller and smaller each year. No deals to be found... Why is it that you can't put money down on a new bike at a motorcycle show??? I can go to a machine tool show and buy a million dollar machine. But I can't buy a stinkin bike at the show. Next thing they'll be chargin admission to get into the dealer. |

| Ducati Seattle ![]() Joined: Jan 2005 From: Bremerton,WA I Ride: all of them | The 1198s wins out over the Rc 8 (for me at least) in the same dollar range but KTM took second place in the overall show. The CF one was beautiful but more likely in line to cost as much as a 1098R Third for me was a surprising 1000RR from Honda ( with no abs or linked brakes please) Light weight and fits like a glove not to mention i really like the red and back one. Not to mention only 12K R1 was disappointingly ugly in person (imho) but i have hopes the new motor will make a difference for them. ZX-10 felt ok but the Honda RR fit even better and is lighter. Suzuki doesn't fit me well at all, the fuel tank is huge and a mile wide. I'm looking forward to a total makeover for the GSXR next year.(loose some weight like Honda did please). No L4 from Aprilla...Booo Good show all in all. |

| Zone Head Joined: Sep 2007 From: 2nd star to the right and straight on 'til morning I Ride: on ice at 15F below zero | I have been to nearly every IMS. It was the same as ever. Got to see some new bikes, check out all kinds of gear etc... Wished I could have seen the Aprilia RSV4 and BMW SBK, but until they are actually for sale it doesn't really matter. According to my top secret sources they both should be available before the 2010 riding season, which is a ways off.... Its the only place you can kick the tires of nearly every model of every brand of motorycyle under one roof. That alone is worth it. I always enjoy socializing with my scooter trash pals... Since I have MAD POWER at WMRRA I was able to get in free as a vendor. Of course it took several hours of errand running and untold gallons of fuel gathering, delivering, dissasembling, loading and returning the WMRRA swag to get this "free" benefit... I parked under the via-duct for free as well. I enjoyed the show. Even joined the VME... |

I was glad to see it with as good as it was. but yes not as great as in the past. |
