| Superbiker ![]() Joined: Dec 2005 From: Seattle, WA I Ride: '04 Moto Guzzi Stone | I thought it was much smaller than the past few years. Lot fewer vendors of 'stuff'. Even the old/classic bike show upstairs had a lot fewer machines, and the upstairs was mostly empty space this year. On the good side, the Piaggio Group (Moto Guzzi/Aprilia) expanded their exhibit and had actual people from corporate to help out the local dealers. It was worth what we wound up paying to get in. I had a $3 discount from Progressive, and Abby had a "Ladies Night 50% Off" coupon, but someone handed her a free ticket on the way in, so we paid $10 for the both of us to get in. I would have felt ripped off a little if we had both paid full price. Even the AMA didn't have a booth this year - the WA State people did, but not the national org. While we enjoyed it, we were both a little bit disappointed overall this year. |

It was way smaller than I expected and honestly the show was not worth the 10 or whatever I paid to get in.. It should be a free show with that kinda of appearance IMO.. I mean, wait like a month and you can do the same thing at the dealer.. Oh well.. |

I guess my free ticket will be worth the admission but, but do I want to pay ferry fees to get there or not? :/ Anyone know what the parking fee was if someone caged it? |

Not worth the $$ (ticket and parking). |

| Daytime Adventure Seeker ![]() | I got double dinged on parking w/ the trailer ![]() As a first timer not really having any expectations I thought it was o.k. Felt like being at a "bigger" dealership. Definatley a few sweet machines there (Kawi's, KTM, Ducati, ) like the idea of my 12 being up there for folks to look at and the attractive woman @ the Ducati area Jay and I ran into Beans and ErickB so that was way cool to.The hightlight for me was meeting Mike Sullivan. I'll be back up there on Sunday. |

I especially enjoyed the fact that no one said anything to me when I sat on bikes on pedastals. Also, no one including the Ducati, Aprillia and KTM dealers said anything to me about practicing rear wheel stand ups on the back pegs of their bikes (after mine busted doing one on Ben Howard I now deem this a important factor in bike purchase, fyi all Suzukis have sucky pegs and the R1 and CBR 100r are damn near unreachable). Regarding vendors I thought their prices and selection were very poor. The highlights of the show for me were talking to Mike Sullivan for a good bit about his school and riding in general and sitting on the RC8 and playing with any settings I could on it. Good times with the $3 discount mentioned here and the fact my g/f got in for half price last night, |

No BMW display at all, thus no new BMW superbike, no K1300s. My estimation: Fully 1/3 fewer vendors than the last few years. For me, only three significant new products: V-max, RC-8, Duc Streetfighter. Street triple is nice, but not much wow factor since it's just a smaller speed triple. |

I liked the looking at the new street fighter offerings from zuki and kawi. Other than that it was pretty much "blah" for the rest of the stuff. Overall I wasn't my usual IMS excited self. |

I overheard an organizer complaining to another person (who I presumed worked with the show) about how everyone istaying away cause they are predicting a blizzard and how last year it snowed...then I couldn't hear them anymore cause they were too far away. I went today cause I wanted to see some folks from Portland that were up. Still sucked. One surprise was that the Buell 1125R was really good in the ergo's department. More than the big 4. Buell also had a 1125R setup for endurance. Man that was eye candy! The Ducati Street Fighter looked better in person but I'm not a fan of the headlight. |

The plus side…I got to fondle the Desmosedici and all the other bikes that said PLEASE DON’T TOUCH.I didnt see any of these http://lh5.ggpht.com/_-0H5rh4Fusc/SG...-122-593lo.jpg Last edited by UHAUL; 12-13-2008 at 05:59 PM.. |

| Training Wheels Joined: Sep 2008 From: Polk County I Ride: 07 GSXR750 06 CRF250X | It sucked. It is the worst show I've gone to in the last 5 years I have gone. There were hardly any parts/gear/accessories vendors up there. There were many that were put on the Shows flyer, that were supposed to be there, and were not. Nothing I hate worse then having someone tell me this, this and this will be there, then when I get there...they aren't. Oh well. |

| Pilot in Command | Pretty much agree with all the posts, it is way scaled down. Honda had half there fleet as 08s. go figure. KTM was the only dealer that really kicked it, yea no RSV4 all thou those new 750s weren't bad. High light was keeping a certain Kawasaki 12 owner company. Bike wise it's not worth a 2-4 hour drive even with a discount, at this rate they might as well make it a free event, won't be long before no one will come if they keep it up like this. |

I'm not a fan on the new RC8 or the new R1 front headlight, but the new Busa looks gorgeous. ![]() I was drooling over the 1198 with only 377 lbs almost as light as 848 with 7 lbs different shy. The 1198S is only 3 lbs heavier than the 848, wow. I watched the Lee Parks suspension settings guide and also the cornering technique (even volunteered with Steve SilverfoxC on the bike doing the cornering technique). Oh, we did group picture. That was a quite large PNW group on saturday! Yeah, it was smaller than last year's but I still enjoyed it. Nice meeting everyone! ![]() |

| Endorsed Joined: Nov 2007 From: Eagle Creek, Oregon I Ride: 2004 Kawasaki ZG1000 Concours | I liked it, a group of us chartered a bus from PDX, had racing DVDs in the player, adult beverages on the ride home, that is the way to go. As far as the show, first time for me, I wasn't bike drooling so much. Not in the market for one yet, but I did fondle the C-14 and the FJR-1300 A bit. I was looking for some winter riding gear and picked up a nice jacket liner and glove liners. Got my ears injected with silly putty ear plugs. Got some cool cargo straps, and some sun glasses with interchangeable lenses and prescription insert frames. I went with little expectations, partied on the bus, found what I was looking for and a few things I wasn't. It was good for me, I'll get on the bus next year. And go to Joe's hot dog stand outside to eat. |

| WMRRA Qualifier Joined: Aug 2007 From: Burien, Wa I Ride: I just keep it in the garage and make the neighbors think I ride | Seems people are a little harsh on the show this year. Remember, the economy sucks right now, not many people spending money on much of anything, and bitching about paying to get in? it takes a lot to set this up. I had my dollars off coupon, split parking with Dock, and walked around. Much smaller than in the past, but not that surprised. Watched and got a laugh over a bunch of geeks getting a picture taken at the Kawi booth. Wanted to talk to Mike Sullivan, took his class years ago, but there were a lot of people milling around to talk to him. Thought a lot of the bikes were really getting ugly this year. Head light treatment on a lot of them was just bad. Didn't like the FZ6, and after talking to Ken, went back and looked again. Didn't like it. Not much of a Ducati fan, but liked them even less this year. The one I kind of like, $18,000, guess I won't be getting that one. I've always wanted a late 80's, early 90's VMax, but the new one is getting really bad. I'm down on the price or the turnout, economy played a big part, but the direction on a lot of the bikes has really gotten ugly to me. |
