Went up 2 or 3 times last summer, all on weekends... no traffic problems.

Many of our roads around here are going to have some traffic here and there on any given weekend, there's no way around it other than some patience and realization that there's more riders than just us locals...and even those numbers can stack up. Weekday rides would be great, but most of our schedules don't coincide with it.

I guess it was Labor Day weekend when I had all the traffic problems. It would make sense that the roads would be big time packed, over and above the normal weekend traffic, on that weekend.

Other than the one ride to Windy Ridge, that was a bummer due to traffic, I haven't had any problems with too many cars on the road. Mt. St. Helens is such an attraction that there's a reason for lots of traffic/people. Most of the other places I ride to wouldn't be considered attractions, so no reason for crowds and cars, except for maybe everyone in PNW wanting to see an old guy on his high mileage SV...

I might go against my vow to never go to Windy Ridge on a weekend, just to see if it can be done and maintain my sanity.

I don't think traffic was bad at all considering our rate of speed most of the time. Only got stuck a couple times. Most people seemed to know we were there for the road more than the view and pulled over. It was a blast. I would do it again for sure. Except I'd skip cougar this time.

And Randall. Good burgers but on that side of the mountian the road was horrid. And those stupid kids were annoying. I'm surprised you didn't get your "R1" kicked over soupsammich. Lol

I was actually surprised he didn't get fresh with the exhaust pipe.... that dude was a douche! I don't see how you can mistake an R1 with a VFR, it's probably a good thing that R1Jackal wasn't with or else he would have been cleaning douche juice off his bike!!

Great little cafe for sure though.

Is it possible for you fill up in Carson, go to Windy Ridge and back to Carson on one fill up? On the SV, I can make it. I get about 53mpg on that ride, so it's not a problem.

I won't make SMC either. We're off to Seattle Saturday to check out an F-2...ostensibly for my S.O.'s riding pleasure (but really so I will have a track-appropriate bike again...shhhh don't tell Marie..)

Watch out gang! With almost the same HP as my VFR and well over 100lbs less mass, when I DO get to ride it, it might let me go a little quicker in the tight stuff. This could be my first-ever experience with an inline four bike....

I'm thinking of looking for a lone grave site i found out about up on 48, I think around Bonny crossing. Your welcome to come if you don't mind good gravel. Jesse, if your reading this, do you still want that $50 off prize I got? If not let me know.

It was good to see (most) everyone again. Mel ~ continue to heal up! Even Ron arrivied on a bike (no way!!).

After coffee, spend my time scrubbing in the GP-A's. Ran Canyon 3 times, Centerville (the west end) 2 times, Eight Mile and others. In areas where there are orchards the pickers are in full swing; I've might of been given the stink eye as I picked my way through the debris at my usual pace.

Felt good to be riding again, on fresh tires.
