We are often on different sides of the discussion. but I am 100% on your side here, my brother. Every time we hit the street on any set of two wheels, we are at a huge risk and disadvantage. It is NEVER ok for anyone to ever use a car to intimidate a bike. Toss in a gun and an unknown agenda and it is a LOSE/LOSE deal for you.. or anyone on a bike. Shoulder riding and tossing revs at someone may piss them off, but that doesnt justify the threat to you. |

| Race Qualifier | Not so much an analogy, but you've probably ran into the idea that when dealing with human behavior, especially competitive humans for every action, there is a larger, and more violent reaction. I've play hockey since I was a tiny kid. I've always been bigger and stronger then others, so I always played the enforcer role. One time, I crushed a kid in the corner. A fairly clean hit, and he was okay, but I did hammer him. The next shift out, he literally swung his hockey stick like a baseball bat at my head out of retaliation for the hit, and he removed my front teeth for me. Countless other times, I have forcefully removed people from around our goalie when they cover the puck, that usually lead to me getting punch in the back of the head, when then lead to us squaring off in a fight. All those times I felt like they started, as I was just doing my thing. And I couldn't understand when people told me, I started it with hitting them. Kinda the same thing here. It's easy to point out the other side, when you weren't really involved. |

I did pass him haha but he swerved to hit me (like a piece of shit car can move faster than a GSXR 1000) . I was up front and didn't see the gun situation at all, but if you're gonna talk about something know what the fuck you're talking about......... by the way, love the post Blues Brothers :-) haha any sucker can wave a gun, I was always taught that mine don't come out until someone's gonna die :-). |

Soon enough we will see people being fined for not having health insurance and others being charged with felonies for owning guns. Brandishing a firearm is a huge problem (especially if you never intend to use it) but I think it pales in comparision to the deterioration of the ideas and principals that made this country great. | Peg Dragger Joined: Dec 2007 From: Eugene, OR I Ride: A bunch of Clown bikes.. | For many years I legally carried a firearm. I haven't in a few years because it kinda becomes like luggage and there are places you can't take it and it can be pain to keep it secure (in the car, in the waistband, someones house, etc) and move around responsibly with a gun. You have to very careful with it and not accidently have someone see it and call the cops or have it fall out while your loading your kids in the car or?? Getting in an argument with anyone for any reason has now changed from a potential fist fight to now maybe having a gun in the mix. You can't relinquish the gun and you can't use it unless it gets "that deadly". Dudes like the one waving one at some kid for a traffic infraction has no clue how much jeopardy he has just put his life in and the people around him, especially the passenger. If a police officer, on duty or not, had seen this go down the best outcome would have been dude in the truck is going to jail. Worst case... Someone gets dead. More than likely the driver of the truck. Obviously not really wanting a gun fight but just "trying to scare him". But once you cross that line from fist fight to gun fight your taking your life in your hands on the bet that nobody around you is armed and willing to use it and if your wrong you will find out quickly. If the OP were armed or not he did the best thing he could for his own safety, just move along.. Had he been armed it still would not be wise to try and draw down on some fuktard pointing a gun at you and he couldn't get down the street and come back. Then he would have not been protected by self defense laws if you retaliate after you escape.. Dude in the truck I'm guessing is not carrying legally, I have just never known anyone that qualified for a CC permit to be that irresponsible. Sitting behind the wheel of a pickup in traffic with a passenger is not the place I would choose to start a gun fight... |

I know a few people that have their CPL's and I shake my head at the fact they can own a gun let alone carry one legal. SMH |
