Thinking About Heading Down To Rattlesnake Canyon Tomorrow
For those of you that haven't been on this ride....shame on you!
This route is fackin epic and is probably one of the best rides I've ever been on. I did it once back when I was riding my 600. Spokane to Lewiston (down Old Lewiston Grade of course), Lewiston to Enterprise OR via HWY 129 (down Rattlesnake Canyon, lunch at Boggan's Oasis at the bottom), Enterprise OR to Walla Walla through the Blues, Walla Walla to Colfax and back up to Spokane. Worked out to 430 or so miles.........EPIC daytrip!
3 great sets of twisties..........Old Lewiston grade is fun.....coming out of Lewiston on HWY 129 blew my mind and I thought it couldn't get any better......BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! HWY 129 through Rattlesnake Canyon almost made funny (but pleasurable) things happen in my pants. It's like the motorcycle gods built the road as twisty as they could just for our amusement. Rider magazine even featured Rattlesnake Canyon in it as one of the top 10 rides in the U.S.
Anyway, feel like gettin the hell outta town tomorrow and haven't really had the Thunderace over a 200 mile day yet and I'm super determined to wear out my new Q2 before fall....so what the hell. This time I plan to turn around at Boggan's and head back the same route as I came....get to shave some miles off the trip and the best part is of course getting to do all 3 sets of twisties again
Should be about 300 miles round trip.
I will post pics when I return (prbly in ride reports?)

It sounds like a fun trip. Unfortunately, my stupid daughter thinks she has to have a birthday tomorrow and I can't leave that irresponsible brat alone. I've made some very good, life long friends on that route a few years ago.
