Another left turn crash?

When I saw this on the news last night they kept saying that both drivers had a green light, which just screams left turn in front of the bike. The updated article confirms that the truck turned in front of the rider. Life threatening injuries

Ouch...

The motorcyclist was pinned underneath the pickup and firefighters had to use airbags to lift the truck off the man.

I hope the rider pulls through.

Police say the pickup was turning on Browne and struck the motorcyclist at around 5:15pm

Police say the pickup was westbound on Sprague Avenue and turning south onto Browne Street at about 5:15 p.m. when it collided with the 63-year-old motorcyclist, who was eastbound and had the right of way.

and then after the collision the driver proceeded to run over the rider and stop on top of him. 63 year old male. Suzuki GS 1000

and most importantly

"Sprague said red light enforcement cameras monitoring the intersection recorded the crash."

I checked with my buddy that rides a GS1000, and he's OK: it wasn't him.

There needs to be tougher peniltys for dumb ass people who run down motorcycles. Shit like this can be avoided with two seconds of common sence to look before you turn. Hope the rider is ok.

People around here are somewhat aware of motorcycles in the summer months. But in the winter months not at all. If you ride during the winter, be extra careful of drivers.
