I have seen moose several times out on rides. They are very intimidating. Even a calf I saw was much bigger than a full grown deer. I hope that rider and passenger are alright.

They said he had injuries to his leg, but it sounded like all would be ok. Remember its mating season for the Moose so they will be making themselves more of a hazard right now....MrsD

I can't find it anywhere either. That makes two moose in one day.

With the explosion in deer and moose population this year, be careful. Anyone else notice the exorbanant number of bucks this year?

I hope the riders are ok. DAMN, I didn't even know there were moose in eastern WA (I lived over there until I was 11)!! I've seen them up close and personal as my Mom's family hunts them in northern MN, but AFTER they're dead. I've seen the damage they can do to cars, I can't imagine what they'd do to a bike.

Not I. Right down the road from me ( 3miles). I almost hit a what appeared to be a mule deer coming in the drive way right before this about 6 pm. Be a cautious rider or driver around sundown as if it was already dark. Large critters are pretty active at that time. But you all know that. Also, hwy 2 north of there seems to claim 1 or 2 bikes a season.

Actually there are much less deer and what not out this year. Last winter took its toll on the numbers and they are WAY down. Not that it has too much to do with the topic, just pointing out. Buck to Doe ratio is down by like 10... 27 bucks to every 100 does. I would definitely not want to hit a moose. Shit with our sportbikes we could about ride right under the belly of a full grown bull. Glad to hear the rider is relatively alright!
