| WMRRA Qualifier Joined: May 2006 From: Cheney, Wa I Ride: 2005 Buell XB12R Firebolt | Here is a tip to get them suckers out. providing it is stuck as fuck. Hit it with the penetrating lube the night before, then hit it again that morning. a couple/few hours later start the engine so the pipe warms up. Try to get a box end wrench on the O2 sensor before you start the engine that way your ready to turn it. Let it heat to the point of where it's just to hot to touch. (minute or two) the metal pipe will expand faster than the O2 sensor, so be quick and turn the wrench when you shut off the engine. Before the O2 sensor reaches the same temp. those cut out sockets are not as handy as the seem. plus they spread apart when tristed hard. ruining your hex and making it harder for any other tool to work when it fails. Just do it yourself, its really not that hard or big of deal Just be sure to use Anti-seize on the new one you install, and keep it only on the threaded area of the sensor NOT on the sensor area that sticks into the pipe. or you will be doing it over again shortly. |

I have a grease pit in my garage, which makes doing o2 sensors much easier, even though with a truck it's probably not that bad. And if you haven't bought an o2 sensor yet, oxygensensors.com is where I have bought my last fw o2 sensors, and they work fine for a decent price. |
