WSP busts motorcycle "chop shop"
breaking news on khq...


SPOKANE, Wash. - Washington State Patrol's Stolen Vehicle Division tells KHQ officers have busted a motorcycle 'chop-shop' in the 2300 block of E. Hoffman.

Officers say they have confirmed at least two vehicles discovered on scene are stolen.

KHQ has a crew on the way and will bring you the latest on KHQ.com.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Washington State Patrol's Stolen Vehicle Division tells KHQ officers have busted a motorcycle 'chop-shop' in the 2300 block of E. Hoffman.

The bust is the result of an investigation into a stolen motorcycle that started a month ago after a man reported what looked like his motorcycle being driven through town with a different license plate on it. The license plate was eventually traced back to the Hoffman address. Based on that and other evidence discovered by WSP, a search weren't was issued and executed Tuesday.

State police found 3 stolen motorcycles. Two of the bikes where taken out with parts from at least two or three different parts on them.

Two people where arrested; William Cody Murphy, 21, charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of Marijuana with intent to deliver and Nicole Deherrera, 21, charged with possession of Marijuana with intent to deliver.

WSP says that chop shop busts are down this year because they've been occupied with other investigations outside the city. They usually have about 3 to 4 busts per year and it is always significant when one of these shops is busted.

Really similar - The picture is definitely a 2001 R1 like mine, but I cant tell if the exhaust is stock like mine. That could have easily been changed...i've called the cops. i'll keep you all posted.

Looks stock to me...right color and everything...just poorly lit.

You should cruise by the house and see if its still there...can't be too hard to find from the bike/car pic. That white box-ey house in the background is pretty unique...

If you're lucky, all you need to do is change the ignition. Assuming it isn't owned by the insurance company now.

So from what i can see from the pics it was three doors east of my house... I've seen him out rideing around anfd working on the silver bike, but thought nothing of it... heck he's even waved at my as i was riding by
