BTW, did you guys know i made this system? Tell me how its going. Chief Rittereiser and I did this project 100% by ourselves, (other than having city members install specific stop signs at our designated locations). I'm sure you guys hate that it stops early. We did this to avoid the majorly hammered folks, and also that in turn doesnt kill the town "Rodeo Taxi" which they voiced their concerns. ANyway, how is it going over there? Do you like where I picked the stops and such? Do you ever use it? (Sorry asking a lot of questions, its just I worked on this for a long time, only to finish and days later graduate and move home.)

I used it to get food at fred meyer back when the roads were all iced over and my car was buried in snow. Saved me time compared to digging my car out, warming it up, then trying to drive on my summer tires.

Dude Frazzini(sp?) beat you to it years before.. He set up a bus to take people from campus out to his restaurant by the interchange.

nope. I park mine on the CWU lot. I just left it sitting for a good month and found over a foot of snow on top. When I stopped at fred meyer I picked up some food and a big ice scraper/brush to fix that problem.

I've used the old vans and the recently upgraded shuttle. My buddy said that last time he was on it the driver turned down the light as they passed around a 5th. The driver wasn't drinking though!

Similar attempts were made 7 times previously. All attempts were call in, ran by the bus, and it was informal and eventually failed. This is an ACTUAL small transit for CWU. Set times, set location stops, with small shuttles that holds 12 people. WOrd has it last time i talked to Chief they may even start doing a few runs to yakima on the weekends.

The idea is that folks with their student ID, can go to the movies, and can go to fred meyer, and buy a lot of groceries. Especially those in dorms without cars (only bikes.) This in turn of coarse, generates revenue for the city, so everyones happy.

ugh.. you don't exactly need a connection card to ride that bus. As long as you look under 35yrs old they don't even bother.

Yeah but if you're living on campus why would you need to go to the grocery store? You should be eating in the dining hall and if you don't want to walk to that just call the pizza joint and they deliver. Seems like we're just making it easier for people to be lazy... And if you're living off campus you're probably already have a car.. It's not like Central or Ellensburg is that big of a place.

YOu're killin me john. Exchange students?! Theres a million stuents from out of state/out of country. Do you like eating at the dining hall 3 meals a day for 2 years? Probably not. And i wouldnt expect you to walk in the rain or the snow to get groceries, especially if you wanted to buy more than like 3 items.

Dude its the drunk bus! Who doesn't like someone to pick you up when your wasted and walking home from the bars when its about 8 degrees. When drunk I tend to walk long distances, this bus has been there for me a few times. Were talking about the same bus right, its that shuttle thing we have now right?

Hate to say it but.. . isnt it healthier to eat your own food than pizza and dinning hall food? Ordering a pizza involves calling and going to the door to get it...thats way lazier than going to the store, picking out food, coming back and cooking it...

I lost 50lbs when I was a freshman, you have the option of eating healthy in the dining halls its just hard to.

I can't think of any dorms that had anywhere to cook your own food so you were stuck eating at the dining hall, well maybe anderson. Unless they've put kitchens in all of the rooms that doesn't make sense going to the store to go shopping. And for me being a collegiate athlete I sure got my monies worth out of living in the dorm. Breakfast was the best meal they had... mmm swedish pancakes..

Hmm most of the time we didn't go to the bars we went to a house to party. And it didn't matter if is snowing or not we still road or mt bikes everywhere.
