"Ellensburg man crashes newly purchased motorcycle

05/15/2007

Associated Press

The State Patrol says an Ellensburg man crashed a newly purchased motorcycle while driving home.

The 21-year-old, Maslow Magnotti, was seriously injured in the crash last night on I-90 at Snoqualmie. Troopers says the cycle wobbled out of control, left the freeway and struck a tree so hard he was knocked out of both shoes.

The patrol says he did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his driver's license. Beginning July 22, the patrol says motorcycle riders caught without the endorsement will not be allowed to continue riding. "

Well, i heard a rumor that he passed away in intensive care in seattle yesterday... I'll post again when i find out for sure. I knew this kid, knew most of his family.

GET ENDORSED AND WEAR YOUR GEAR

sad story. and the saddest part of it all is since he didnt have an endorsement i doubt his life insurance will compensate his family (if he had any)

Ok, update, he's not dead, he's still in intensive care and it's expected he'll recover as far as i know now. My coworker is good buddies with him (duane, do you know Bob Haberman?) and i'm gettin info as he gets info.... so kudos to not dying, but hopefully he learns something from this experience.

Lets hope so!

I wish people didn't have to crash to learn a lesson.
