Thumbs up Ellensburg's Camera Man
Ok, ducatiduane... your self-titled Ellensburg Camera Man...and Slow Eric and I are very happy to know that your the proud owner of a Nikon (if only KillerMondoDude would learn the errors of his ways)...

So this is your thread...every day, in this thread, post up one new picture that you took that has to do with or is of Ellensburg with a small caption.

Like I said at the IMS, get out there and take pictures!

I had to send my computer in for repairs. I have it back now, but had to copy all my files to another computer, so most of my pics are on that computer. Until I get them I cannot promise something from ellensburg, but for sure a picture. However, I will do my best. Lets get this started off. I didn't know much about ISO setting when I took this. I good photographer explained why my pictures would get a bit grainy. At the next game, the pics should come out better.

Central's Brandon Foote with a midrange jumper for 2!

No cropping on that either. It was a very well framed picture IMHO. Anyway, more (and better) to come!

Traveled over the mountains to a Mariners game. Felix Hernandez warming up in the bullpen. This is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken

Duane, consider opening your aperature up a bit more when shooting something like that basketball player. The shot has great composition, but the fans detract from the subject. Increasing the aperature will decrease the depth of field, which will tighten up the focus on the subject.

Lookin' good!

Aperture 4.0
Speed 1/125
Exp. +5
Focal length 55mm.

I dunno why it didn't have the background blurred?

Hunh... that *should've* done it. Either way, it was well framed, indeed. Keep having fun!

you had it on manual mode, but i'm not understanding the exp.+5... may have something to do with it, as it might've affected your actual shutterspeed/aperture size. que es?

if anything, the depth of field still wasn't short enough, because he seems pretty close to the stands.

Exp +5 because I couldn't get the pics bright enough without a flash.

I was thinking the same thing. But, he should have been around 10 feet from the stands at the nearest spot. . .

so the exp +5 just makes the actual picture itself brighter as opposed to the exposure? hmm. and you have no iso info in there. that's weird.

True, or you can always fix that with a few tweaks in Photoshop

i thought exp +5 would....you're the pro though. whats the difference between the exposure and the brightness of the picture? the info button on my camera says "Adjust exposure from the value metered by the camera, making the entire frame brighter or darker. Choose positive numbers to make it brighter, negative to make it darker". Advice? (Im still a total noob at the SLR thing)

iso was either hi 1 or 1600. to high for quality. but like i said, i didn't know about that until afterward.

But when you have meaningless setting and ones that don't seem to work . . .

And what is with not listing your ISO?

Is it the camera? Or are you gonna take the blame on this?

Him and Carson got into it a few minutes later. . . didn't seem to bad but more like a "Hey, what the hell I was open"

He didn't seem happy at all the entire game.

This one comes from the Colts vs. Raiders game. I learned DONT GO TO OAKLAND IF YOU'RE A VISITING TEAM'S FAN! There were probably 500 Colts fans in the stadium (at least, that had anything colts on). I may throw up one or two more from the trip, but Im going to try and get back to Ellensburg pics. This specific pic can be seen in the pics from my trip, but any others wont be.

Edit: Today is a twofer. I had to. . . the Colts make me warm inside.
12/16 Oakland Vs. Indy

The man, getting ready, with everyone in the background Reggie, Addai, Bracket, Ben and Brian . I was star struck. Kind of weird that I got almost every skill player (missing Dallas) in this shot, with Aromashdu in the background too.

Today's picks are from one of my favorite corners, on my most typical ride. I have two, one of manic mike (red gixxer) and a friend, greg, who I went to high school with (cbr). Anyway, panoramics for today, couldn't decide which one so you get both.

I went to a Raiders-Vikings game a few years back. A friend and I(both Raiders fans) woke up and walked over to the Denny's to have breakfast. Cars were lined up around the corner waiting to get in the parking lot. They were all drinking whiskey and beer. It was 6 am. The game started at 1 pm.

Yea, we got there at like 10am for a 1pm game and everyone was drinking. The parking lot was practically full. Everyone was drinking and cars were lined to the free way. There were people on the sidewalk selling Raiders t shirts with grim reapers on them and everything .. . .
