Fuel outside of Prineville?
I'm heading out on a trip next week and will be riding east on 380 from Prineville to 395 then up to John Day. Is there anywhere to fuel up on the way?

I can't remember any and when I look at my map nothing jumps out at me. I think you'd have to be able to make it to John Day from Prineville.

There is a small store/cafe/bar in Paulina that sells "regular" gas. Prineville to John Day is only about 120 miles so you should be able to make it on a single tank....unless you plan to cruise at triple digit speeds...which is very easy to do on that road...so I have been told.

Is the station from Prineville to Paulina called Post, the central point of the state? That's a don't miss gas station.

10-4 fueling there. I've never been past warp 3 on two wheels so... Anyone know the road conditions? I've never been down that one before. It looks curvy on a map but is it really?

Its a wide 2 lane with rolling hills and sweeping curves. The pavement is very good on the western half, there were some sections of rough pavement on the eastern half (the last time I rode it). Its fun on two wheels!

I cruised at well over warp 3 with a couple of BMWs well behind me that were also holding their own. Big sweepers and long straights with nice, high-desert scenery. Saw maybe a half dozen cars for the entire length. One of my favorite "going to blazes" roads in Oregon. The section a few miles before you get into Prineville (when coming from the east) is special, with nice curves, impressive canyons and vistas where you can see many mountain peaks at the same time. Love it, love it, love it. Riding along the John Day River is one of the best riding experiences, too.
