Okay, here's what's going on. 1996 yami yzf600r

I've been running 20 50 part synthetic oil ever since I've had this bike. It now has about 40k on the odo. Just before my last oil change (less than 500 miles ago) my oil light would intermittently come on, despite that the bike had the proper oil level.

So I changed the oil, using again 20 50. I skipped the filter this time because I did it last time.

The bike never seems to get up to temp (fully... like it did in the summer time) It get's up to temp enough that it runs fine without the choke, but never really above 60 degrees C on the temp gauge. And the oil light will still intermittently come on. It usually stays on for a few minutes, and then goes back off.

I'm wondering if during the colder months I should run a thinner oil. But, funny thing, this never happened last winter.

Okay, thanks in advance.

FT: 2007 Yamaha R6

2007 Yamaha R6. Bone stock and in perfect condition, never down. 2900 miles, tabs good thru November 2010. Clean and clear title.

Crap time of year to sell a bike, I know, but I would consider the following bikes in trade ....
Triumph Scrambler / Bonneville
BMW F650GS, preferably a Dakar
Aprilia RSVR (2004+)
Ducati 748/749/916/996/998/999/Monster
Or maybe something interesting and old (NO Harleys or cruisers!)
I may also consider a car/truck of similar or lesser value ... maybe!

I purchased this years ago when I had a motorcycle, I never ended up using it at all and it has just sat in the garage since I no longer ride (unfortunately). It has the pin that comes with the unit by default.

$90 OBO, I can meet anybody in the eastside during the day.

If you can tell me what year that was put into effect that would be awesome... I await your response.

Has anybody tried one of these? 80mpg, weather protection, stereo, Honda designed engine, freeway capable (barely, 60mph), and leans like a bike (kinda) all for $3800!?! :scratchea It reminds me of the Honda Gyro 50cc scooter and looks kinda fun. There is a dealer in the U district and I think I may go do a test ride?
