Brian, UJM is Universal Japanese Motorcycle. The phrase was coined in the mid 70's to discribe four cyl Japanese bikes. A single cyl Royal Enfield has NOTHING to do with a UJM. |

I thougth UJM was Universal Japanese Moto, that you could take the platform and make into what ever needs suit your riding. So the standard would go from cafe, to chop, to bob, scramble, to bagga, to race depending on your budget and your desire, and because you started with the reliable motor you could run em hard and try and grenade em, they usually lasted longer than the rider. I like the high pipe thumper, but would NEVER touch the enfield for it. |

| Newbie Joined: Jul 2009 From: Seattle I Ride: 09 Suzuki TU250X | hello all, just joined the forum! ![]() i found this thread while browsing the web for the TU250X and i was psyched at the positive remarks towards it and its even cooler that you guys are in the pnw. i bought the TU250X last week and it's been a blast. I'm really happy that i got it and even more excited to start turning it into a cafe style racer. one of the biggest problems i have with this bike is that because it's so new, there's not much in the way of aftermarket stuff directly tied to it in the US...but i'm sure it will come soon. I'd really like to get a center stand for it. So far, i've put 160miles on it and changed the oil last week...all looks good. I hope to put some clubman bars on it this weekend. let the transformation begin. I'm not a big guy so this thing cruises around pretty effortlessly around the city and takes 99 at 75-80mph easily. I got it from Mike at Aurora and he topped it off for me last week and i'm still not close to empty yet. hopefully after the break-in i'll be getting the 85mpg's suzuki advertises. Thanks. |

I had a Japanese market limited edition version a while back and it was a very fun bike. Everywhere I went peeps asked if I had restored it myself, heh ![]() ![]() ![]() |

There's no manual out for this one yet but I've done some research on how to do it but wouldn't mind having a spotter. I live in the Ballard area. Thanks in advance! |

In the meantime, if you're interested, you can read my blog where I wrote a bit on the bike and there's some pics of a couple simple changes I've already done. http://trucreviews.blogspot.com |
