Such a safe warm caring world. how lovely!! puke![]() Carl |

I like riding around town under 35mph with my visor up. The wind does not bother my eyes at all, and at those speeds very unlikely of anything being kicked up from the road in town. Freeway riding or highway i completely agree it should be down. But why make an issue of this around town, and why all of a sudden? |

Which makes me think about this... WHen are they gonna outlaw tinted visors like they do tinted glass on autos!! LOL.... You cant see what Im doing behind my visor when its down. Im typically sticking my tongue out at someone or making faces at people while its down!!! LOL |

How do you suppose it occurred? Like a frog in a pan. A giving people with patience and tolerance of everyone else. Allowing foolishness (laws) to be created and applied as if it is needed and still not really effecting them so it was OK. Look at the explosion of motorcycling in the past 10 years. The laws were applied just as fast. There are many here who complained full on but since we were (read we are still) so few voices against so many, we were simply pushed aside. Then some youngster arrives and blames the elders without ever thinking "I could help them". But vocal disdain isn't helping, get off your seat and send email, get involved in a group which can maybe begin to help. But stop the blame game, because tomorrow it is your fault!

B) More tickets = more revenue, as everyone knows the Washington state "traffic enforcement" policy is revenue driven, not public safety driven. Any new angle to generate more revenue, regardless of any real gain in safety, is looked at as pennies from heaven.

| MotoGP Champion | not exactly..... The local revenuer thieves of our government being recent are correct although it began long ago. I lived through it and witnessed it become what you seem to believe is a "today" or "recent" issue. It has been an issue for decades. I have ranted for decades about it and it's power to control people, yet not correct one thing. Written within most helmet compulsory laws are eye protection statutes. So it is easier to track helmet laws than eye protection laws. It actually began on 01-01-1961 in Australia, claiming the title as the world's first mandatory helmet law. They had an eye action within the second year for windscreens. On 01-01-1967 in New York. A mandatory helmet law including windscreen or goggles law was passed. Followed by many states close behind. The dates and such are listed below, and click here if you would like to read about motorcycle helmet history including visors of the 70's. I don't agree with many of the writers assumptions, like the 13.3 billion was saved, by whom? The people is who saved the money, no one asked us if we wanted to save money. How can anyone claim my savings as a national benefit? Helmet laws begun on these dates in these states. Alabama 11/06/67 Alaska 01/01/71 Arizona 01/01/69 Arkansas 06/29/67 California 01/01/85 Colorado 07/01/68 Delaware 06/21/68 District of Columbia 02/11/70 Florida 09/13/67 Georgia 07/01/69 Hawaii 06/04/67 Idaho 01/01/68 Illinois 07/01/69 Indiana 07/26/67 Iowa 09/01/75 Kansas 07/01/67 Kentucky 06/13/68 Louisiana 07/31/68 Maine 10/07/67 Maryland 07/01/68 Massachusetts 05/22/67 Michigan 03/10/67 Minnesota 05/01/68 Mississippi 03/28/74 Missouri 09/28/67 Montana 07/01/73 Nebraska 05/29/67 Nevada 01/01/72 New Hampshire 09/05/67 New Jersey 01/01/68 New Mexico 06/16/67 New York 01/01/67 North Carolina 01/01/68 North Dakota 07/01/67 Ohio 01/01/68 Oklahoma 04/27/67 Oregon 01/01/68 Pennsylvania 07/15/68 Rhode Island 04/04/67 South Carolina 07/01/67 South Dakota 07/01/67 Tennessee 06/04/67 Texas 01/01/68 Utah 05/13/69 Vermont 03/06/68 Virginia 06/26/70 Washington 06/08/67 West Virginia 05/25/71 Wisconsin 07/01/68 Wyoming 05/24/73 ![]() Last edited by Gusgus; 06-29-2009 at 04:43 PM..
