"Though I've cursed you And I've flayed you, By the Bracebridge Street that made you You're a better bike than Triumph.... Hunka Tin!" With apologies to both Kipling and my Triumph..... ![]() I had a 450 when they were new--and actually went from Portland to Michigan and back on it. Kinda buzzy, though, and terrible to try to work on. Think I'll pass.... Barb |

I rode a few of the bigger K models of the era and didn't like their notchy transmissions. Plus, when you're used to the "hit" of a 2 stroke power band, a lighter bike and better handling chassis, it makes a bike like this kind of boring. It's still a nice vintage example but IMHO overpriced. Ok well I'm being cranky 'cause I have a garage full of well-running bikes and can't ride due to my pending operation July 15 on my R thumb. Then I find out Windy Ridge is open....this weekend is perfect for riding all of Gifford Pinchot Nat'l Forest, or doing the Clackamas River/Detroit Lake /"Aufderheide" down to Oakridge....damn. Hope everyone out there gets in an extra ride, lots of fun and NO crashes please...I'll just have to live vicariously through y'all for the next 8+ weeks. |
