| Zone Head Joined: Jul 2008 From: Klamath Falls, OR I Ride: 07 CBR 600RR | When someone asks what kind of bike you have, how do you respond? When I'm in a work environment or with non-riders, most people know I'm into motorcycles and its always asked... "What kind of bike do you have?" Instead of going to the forensic answer of 2007 Honda CBR 600RR with yadda yadda mods...I'm just answering "sportbike"....or the occasional "crotch rocket"..though I dont use that one often If its not a Harley...most people dont get it. A crotch rocket they say...what's that ??? ![]() You motard guys...I cant even imagine Everyone deals with it at some point.. When someone asks what kind of bike you have, how do you respond? |

Few of them have any idea what a motard is... Most of them ask me if that's a dirt bike... Well...yea, sort of... |

If they want more details, they'll ask, but there are only so many times you can say "Suzuki GSX-R600" in a day. I swear whoever named it never thought about phonetics. Well, at least not in English. It's kind of a lot to spit out ![]() |

| Superbiker | I have to kinda chuckle. Upon learning that I have a motorcycle, usually the first question anyone asks is "Is it a Harley?" (One guy looked right at my bike and asked that. ![]() ) To which I respond "No, it's a Yamaha." then they're like, "Oh, well that's cool." It never ceases to amaze me how so many people can be utterly mesmurized by an image. People who have never laid a finger on a motorcycle in their lives, and all they can think about is "Harley." |

| Superbiker | I tell them what I ride, if they need a more detailed answer then SV1000, I have absolutely ZERO interest in discussing motorcycles with them. |

Answering that question made me feel good - a proud bike owner! I felt like a new person!! Then they ALWAYS ask "what size is that?" - I say "1700" - at that point they have no clue what I mean (not sure why they asked). As of late, I have been getting tired of answering these questions. Any time someone asks I know how the conversation is gonna go and it immediately gets old. So NOW when someone asks me "what kind of bike...." - i immediately stab them in the heart with any nearby sharp object, cover their mouth and say SSSHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! ![]() |

(Awkward pause from someone that thought they knew motorcycles) What's that? Well, they were building sport bikes with Sportster engines (that part seemed to make sense ) and then they got Rotax to build this proprietary spec engine (eyes start to glaze over)....Rotax? Yeah, you know, like SkiDoo? Remember the old Can-Ams? Oh, sure. Yeah, that's really great. Hey, I have to get going, my wife is ....... |
