I don't read that as option talk. And there's no big4 with TC? Is that 404 wet? Target - 419, way to go if so. Was it always intended to be a 2010? Here I thought they were late with an '09. |

So he didn't beat me :D oh and I TOLD YOU SO MOTHER FUCKERS!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH that's for all the people that laughed at me when I said it would be around 14base months ago. ![]()
Rain brings it down to *only* 150HP and allows for zero tire slippage. Sport assumes DOT rubbers, doesn't allow slippage but gives the full 193HP. Track allows for a tiny bit of slippage and small wheelies, 193HP much quicker to access. For the SLick mode you have to plug in a special jumper cable under the seat that the bike comes with. No one can accidently turn it on that way. It allows for quite a bit of tire slippage, so you can back it around corners, and full wheelies for a certain amount of time. Nope, 404 dry. 45*wet. Lighter than the R1, heavier than the CBR if I remember correctly. oh, but that's the CBR w/o ABS honda abs=25pounds....TWENTYFIVE BMW abs? 5 pounds...just 5 pounds so equally spec'd bikes, the BMW is the lightest in it's class, and the most powerful, and the most advanced, and only slightly more expensive i smell a winner Last edited by Avboden; 07-15-2009 at 03:46 AM..

The race ones are minus about 100 pounds and plus about....oh say $100,000 from the street version. Wait till it gets into some superstock racing, that's where it'll really kick ass FYI they are doing damn well in WSBK considering. What people don't realize is Aprillia had a full year with the bike to develop before the first race. The first race S1000RR rolled off the line THREE MONTHS before the first race. They are literally tuning as they go. a few top 10's, a few fastest laps, all signs of things to come once the bike gets dialed in. |

At 14K base basically it's quite interesting and I'm curious as to what the sales will be like. I'll expect to see a few fellow members here with them next summer or late this year regardless I'd like to see them in person. Biggest question is how long will it take for companies to come in with aftermarket parts? (sliders, etc...) |

I know BMW is rapidly working on aftermarket stuff. Shark Skins and one other smalltown race fairing company are already developing track skins. Apparently akro makes the stock exhaust for BMW (According to the rep) so expect an akro system to be out as usual, but be a good few grand. IMO an aftermarket exhaust isn't worth it, the stock is pretty damn good. More power can be found on the bike by raising the RPM's up to 16,000 (yes, you can do this, but BMW doesn't tell you, and it'll break warranty obviously).

BMW's track record for "ground braking" bikes in well-established classes was tarnished quite a bit by their 450 dirt bike. Handling and power were both behind the curve compared to leading manufacturers. |

I still remember when people were saying it was going to have desmo valve actuation (postive valve egress).link Oh well, BMW hype machine is pretty good. How are they doing is WSB btw? 70 points? Aprilia (another 1st year entry) 162 points... And they have Biaggi. This thing must be the greatest invention since sliced bread. Lighter, more powerful, and cheaper... |

If I was getting a liter bike, this would probably be the one. Let's wait till we see the magazine reviews. sure avboden...... sure. You do that. It's pretty hard to make all out race hp with a catalytic converter doing its job to save western society. |

Aprilia had 9 months more development than BMW did. They had the bikes for a full year. BMW got theirs only 3 months before the first race.

| Superbiker | Aprilia has Biaggi riding their bike.. That cancels out at least 8 of those 9 months of development. |
