Talk about being blind to reality. Did you even pay attention to the last 2 races in 06? Pedrosa BLATANTLY wave Nicky through at Valencia, then ADMITTED to holding up the pack behind him. And everyone was like OH ITS OK PEDROSA TOOK NICKY OUT AT ESTORIL SO HE'S ALLOWED TO WAVE HIM BY! Last edited by Nefarious; 07-16-2009 at 02:00 AM..

I'll type slow... I'm not a huge Nicky Haden fan. However, I didn't see HONDA riding the #26. I didn't see HONDA riding the #69. I didn't see HONDA riding the #46. I saw the rider on top of #69 win a World Championship. Whatever he and Pedrobot worked out, Nicky was the racer in the position to take it all in the end. And Rossi wanted that championship. He was giving NOTHING away. Think about having Rossi grid up near you, with the intention of racing you to the finish. You, racing Rossi, for the world championship while millions watch on TV and 100,000 watch in person. Think about that. That makes ME want to cry. I'm no pussy. Do you remember that Capirossi was taken out of the picture due to injuries while he was running away with the championship? There are lots of ups and downs to a championship. Personnally I would have liked to see #46 cap the years on the 990, but He failed. Nicky didn't. HONDA helped, but they didn't ride the motorcycle. To call him names or accuse him of being less than amazing is ignorant. Go do a track day, mabye two, then watch the GP or WSBK or even front running AMA guys, in person, mabye you will get an understanding of how good those guys are. | Zone Head Joined: Aug 2006 From: Portland, Or (Bethany) I Ride: 03 636 | Just my .02 This thread has gotten a little out of control. There is NOBODY on this forum that can out ride our bikes. Whether it is Japanese or Italian. The motoGP racers have nothing to do with the bikes we get on the consumer end. Could Rossi win a championship on a Ducati? Probably, could Nicky finish at best 5th on a Yamaha? Possibly. Will you ever be able to ride and keep pace with Nicky? Or the slowest GP rider? Doubtful. Why don't you keep your opinions about the riders to yourself, and out of a thread showing off a sexy new design for a Ducati. If you don't like Ducati, this probably wont change your mind. Maybe this is a method for Ducati to rally Nicky on? You ever think about that? I don't believe anybody here has close enough ties to the top Ducati officials to know why they chose a Nicky themed bike. /rant |

Nicky is the ONLY American champion currently racing motorcycles. (Wait for the Yamaha / Spies edition NEXT year) I bet the bike is primarily, if not exclusivley distributed in the US The reason they built it was to sell motorcycles and increase the brand awareness. Thats the only reason. That doesn't mean I can take it when haters tear down a great rider and spew uninformed, 010101, digital vomit on my screen. If I could spend my own money ( ) there would, at the very least (sorry wifey) be an 848 in my garage. Painted like that......maybe--just a bit too flashy for me. That bike looked great on track at Laguna though.Don't understand the hate on Hayden. That guy puts in more hard laps than most riders out there. Read how many practice laps the guy puts in before races and during testing--then call him a pussy. If your gonna pick on Hayden then you might as well say Edwards doesn't belong in MotoGP either. or Toseland.........Capirossi..........Vermeulen..... .....keep going. Who SHOULD really be there? fercryin'outloud. ![]() ![]() cj Last edited by cee-jay; 07-16-2009 at 09:49 AM.. |

Don't get me wrong I would love to have it sitting in my Garage, I just think his signature on the gas tank is a bit much! As if the colors and all the other $hit doesn't make it unmistakeably a Hayden bike, I need his signature on it to confirm it??? |

athlete? are you fucking serious, there is no such thing as athletics in riding, there is skill, atletics is FOOTBALL,SOCCER ETC, motorcycle racing is like NASCAR and GOLF. none of these should even be put in the same category as REAL. "sports". personally the bike is UGLY as fuck and to sell it for 14k is ridiculous, if you buy this bike you need to go jump off a cliff for having too much money to waste... ![]() BTW: fuck DUCATI...ride HONDA Last edited by NC05600RR; 07-17-2009 at 04:37 AM..

| Pit Crew Joined: Mar 2008 From: Poulsbo, WA I Ride: Honda, or Suzuki, or Yamaha | Wow! This thread REALLY delivers. Rep to everyone!!! The thing that impresses me most about Nicky this year is that his team is still 100% behind him and think very highly of him in spite of his struggles. Maybe he'll figure the Duc out; maybe he won't; but he is a champion and apparently a damn nice guy to boot. I thought he handled the Honda debacle with class and he's handling his Duc ride with class too. And if anybody thinks that riding a motorcycle at that level is not athletic; you need your friggin' head examined. Really.... ![]() |
